Of all our remaining games, I think we blow one we should win (maybe Cincy or San Fran), but somehow pull one off against the Giants. Hopefully the ghost of ST will swoop down and crush Plexiglass.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
After looking at the numbers, this is a very crucial game for us. I have not factored in other games played this Sunday. If we win this game we have a 49% chance of not making the playoffs (we sit in the 6th spot right now and control our own destiny) and if we lose the next game we jump to 76% chance of not making it.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
Alright, here we go. Seattle-W NY-W Baltimore-L Cincinatti-W Philly-W San Francisco-W ...The only advantage I see for Seattle is crowd noise. Other teams have won there and we owe them one...We need it more than the Giants and will have some surprises for them... Our defense is better than the Ravens offense but their defense could give us problems and win the game for them at their place... Donovan finds out who the best team really is... San Francisco... have we locked up a playoff spot yet? That should'nt, but could make a difference. I would'nt bet on these picks but this is what I'm going with. By the way, another Deep Creek grad plays on the Seahawks. #55 Darryl Tapp DE.

I agree, but Seattle will probably give us an indication of we are playoff bound. We get beat by the Seahawks, then all bets are off in my mind. Every game from then, with the exception of the Bengals is a potential loss. Our defense is solid, but it can't put points on the board. Our offense is horrible now. Starting to think the WCO sucks!!!!! |

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
A loss to Baltimore, but you have us beating the Giants? Gmen are a complete team and defensively just as impressive as the Ravens statistically, if not better. If we lost to the Boys at Fedex, do you really think we will beat the Gmen? Fedex isn't RFK. It is almost as bad as the Pontiac Silverdome or Ford Field. Anyone can win there!!!!!!
Including us. Do you really think the best team wins all the time? I have'nt seen your picks yet Gus. Do you have us winning ANY games?

We don't stand a chance against the Giants. They will destroy us.
I had a better feeling going into the New England game last year. |

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
I believe 9-7 will make the playoffs as a wildcard. You have to look at schedules of all the the other teams that teams that have a 5-4-1 record or above. The teams that are going to win the division are the Giants, Carolina, Zona, and GB/Chicago. I feel the wild card teams are going to be the Bucs and us. We will have to get to 9 wins to make the playoffs, but I feel we will be able to take atleast three of those games.
I hate doing this every season, but with Zorn in his first year and Campbell just learning the WCO and doing pretty well in the system and two Rookie WR getting acclimated to the NFL, I feel Zorn, Campbell and the rest of the team have played above their heads. Yes, these past two games have been disappointing, but we will beat the Hawks this week and hopefully surprise the world and beat the Giants next week. |

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
Damn dude! I knew we'd get blown away against NE last year too but is that really inevitable against NY at home. Our defense kept them in check on the opener, and regardless of how poorly the offense plays going forward I think our d remains very tough. I see more interceptions in the last 6 games than in the previous 10. Also see Blache using more schemes to take advantage of mismatches. I don't think we'll get blown out like last year.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
After I've had a couple of days to get that dallas game out of my mind, I still think that if the stars align just right that this team may still have a chance to make the playoffs. Provided that both the D-line and O-line play like a quality NFL unit. I'm sorry, but there is way too much talent on this team for it to not make the playoffs.
I would like to have someone try to explain to me why this team seems to play like crap during this part of the season. And then, during the last 4 or 5 games left to go, they somehow realize their potentail and start to play up to that. Oh yeah, I'm done with Springs on this team. This guy is suppose to be our #1 corner, but he can't get his ass off of the trainers' table. What quarter will this moist-ass come out of today with some whack-ass cankle injury? If Portis can man up, and put his gear on, and ball with his team, why can't Springs. I'm starting the recruit D. Hall to replace Springs movement. Hell, Hall could also spell the departure of R El, because he too isn't getting the job done. The only major contribution that ARE can be counted on during a season, is his little gimmick end of round option pass. Damn, I thought that I was over the dallas game! Now I'm pissed-off all over again. Thanks Skins, for ruining my day!

Nobody should expect that every season. And "way too much talent" ?? Who would that be? Portis and Moss when they're healthy, sure. Campbell is a game-manager, sort of like Kyle Orton. So he's not a game-changing quarterback yet. Cooley, while leading the team in catches, really has had a ho-hum year so far. Chris Samuels, again, when healthy, could start on any team in the league, but nobody else on among the front five could. That's it for offensive talent. Defensive talent? Pass rushers? NO. Dominant run stoppers? In the last couple of weeks, NO. Linebackers other than London Fletcher? NO. The real talent we have is at the secondary, and it's not a lights-out group. Smoot won't kill you, but there always seems to be a big pass completed against him at the worst time. Carlos Rogers and Chris Horton are the only real talents we have back there right now. Even LaRon Landry has fallen off a cliff this year. He's been nothing special. So really, exactly where is all of this "talent"? It's here and there at best with this team. And most of them come with the oft-used qualifier, when healthy. |

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?
Lets go back and put things into perspective:
1. New coach. 2. New system. 3. Adjustment period. Looking at where we sit now I can't complain. Most everyone had the Skins last in the division and probably 8-8. We had a nice win streak and everyone started talking SB. We went up against most teams that have been running the same system for a few years and beat them, some in their own house. You have to be proud of the Skins no matter where they end up. A team with this much talent on a team screams SB but everyone needs to keep in mind the Skins were written off by most simply cause of the top 3 things I listed. Having said that to be on the winning side of things is nice instead of trying to break even. I would be estatic if we made 10-6 whether we make playoff or not. I just hope our passing attack picks up and if not at the end of this season maybe next season we can become the scoring power house Zorn talked about. To be honest I have a hard time thinking one rookie WR is going to make this team look like a power house but I could be wrong. I say one cause Thomas has not done a whole lot even though he has played several games. I'm not knocking him just saying he is a diamond in the rough and will probably need another year to shine. We all are hanging our WR problems on one rookie WR and even then JC tends to only look at Moss and Cooley. 10-6 would be awsome but how would you all feel if we went 9-7. I think I would still feel good. Now if we started losing all our games and ended up on the negative side of things will really upset me. All and all 10-6 is a respectable number play offs or not. |

But yeah, all of our talent is stacked on the offensive side, while all of our depth is on the defensive side. So basically, we need the offense to get healthy and rescue the defense from mediocrity. If we get real healthy real fast, we'll make the playoffs and possibly even win the division if New York falls off their torrid pace. If the offensive injuries keep piling up, we're looking at 8 or 9 wins.
