Re: Steve McNair found shot to death!

"Until the police wrap up their investigation, I'm only willing to acknowledge four victims — McNair's four sons. I don't know how to classify the adults in this saga — McNair, his wife Mechelle or his 20-year-old girlfriend, Sahel "Jenny" Kazemi. The kids, they're victims of two horrific crimes: 1. the murder of their father; 2. their father's apparent abandonment so that he had time to wine, dine, vacation and shack up with his jump-off." McNair definitely didn't deserve to die, we're not in the stone age anymore where we kill people for every little indiscretion. If anything the only just punishment would have been a tarnished image, unfortunately the fact that he was murdered on top of a tarnished image makes this overkill. Still I'm with the writer on this one, the main victims of this crime are the four children who will never get a chance to see their father again. Of course pro athletes themselves are prone to cheating as one of the major factors in getting in trouble is opportunity (pressure and ability to rationalize are the other two) and being a famous athlete one becomes overwhelmed with oportunity. Later the hormones provide the pressure and the fact that other athletes are doing it provides the rationalization. Of course the fact remains that a lot of athletes want to have kids but at the same time they don't want to be tied down in a relationship. On top of that a lot of them get married before they're 30 which seems to double the risk of an athlete cheating on a spouse. If anything the one athlete who has it right is Derick Jeter. The guy knows that he's not ready to seatle down and doesn't pretend to. As a result he's free to conduct himself however he wishes. A-Rod ont he other hand chooses to have kids and ends up finding himself on the front page of the tabloids for hooking up with Madonna. Anyway I got to go so if I have any other thoughts on this I'll post them later.

No wonder I don't want to be married or one of the reasons why I won't get married.

Re: Steve McNair found shot to death!
The police have declared it a murder/suicide. Just saw it on ESPN. They believe she shot McNair while he was asleep on the sofa. He didn't even know what was coming.

Re: Steve McNair found shot to death!
I saw this coming. I really feel for his 4 kids. It's sad that he had to die such a violent death.

Re: Steve McNair found shot to death!
These are the consequences of sticking your "swinging Richard" in all the wrong places.

Re: Steve McNair found shot to death!
There certainly are consequences to the choices we make. Some more severe than others. One of the reports I heard said the woman thought McNair was seeing another woman. Apparently she didn't mind cheating with him, but she didn't want to be cheated on by him.

Re: Steve McNair found shot to death!
Not sure getting murdered is high on the list of typical consequences for cheating.
