I really think you're reading the tea leaves incorrectly on this one. The Skins
are rebuilding - their just not admitting to it in a straightforward manner. To put it more succinctly, Bruce Allen's "the future is now" remark was pure bullshit. Don't be mislead.
Because the Skiins are rebuilding, going after Peyton Manning would be the wrong move for this team. We are not going to be competing for a title for at least two more seasons, if nearly everything goes well. Not to mention that Peyton is a very big injury risk which the Skins cannot afford to take.
As for the Free Agent pickups. these were a different type of FAs for the Skins. They were younger mid-level FA's - not silver bullets but good players who filled needs - who should be around when the team has been rebuilt. To rebuild, we need good young players who were drafted
and good young players who were acquired through Free Agency.
Our designated Franchise QB will almost certainly be drafted.
