Can't swing dead cat w/o hit'n a Skins Fan NOW
Where were all these folks 2 months ago wearing Burgundy and Gold? I knew fairweather fans would come out of the closet after a few wins but geez-0-flip!
You see folks with sweatshirts with 2 year old fold marks pressed into them, oldtimers with fricking dust still on their hats and young kids that would not know a Riggo from an Eggo all wearing brand new leather skins gear. hahaha! I won't bust on them because even in their silly way they help the team with money they spend or the fun of winning. I swear the guy at the Wawa [gas station] was wearing a cowboy hat a few weeks ago but he denied it to my face. And yes I DID ask his sorry tail too and know he is ly'n. lol See these types of folks around you? I guess I live within 20 miles of DC so this is all home town stuff to me and I forget many of you my warpath brothers are Redskins logistically challenged. If someone could get a picture from space of this region it would have a nice BURGUNDY tint to it. Go Skins and fairweather fans too! peace EDIT/ No Cats were harmed in the making of this comment or thread

Re: Can't swing dead cat w/o hit'n a Skins Fan NOW
Its hard to tell. I think alot of the older fans (like my father) had lost interest in watching the games and seeing how far they had falling. They lost their old coach and the only owners they had ever known. With Gibbs back in town I know my father and mother started watching the games last year but they did not go out of their way to watch them. Now that they have had something to cheer for ths year they both have a renewed interest in watching. My father had season tickets back in the 60's and has always been a fan but just a silent observer until lately.

Re: Can't swing dead cat w/o hit'n a Skins Fan NOW
I went to a sports bar last night to watch the game, and stopped at the grocery store on the way. Between the two places I saw at least fifteen jerseys, hats and sweatshirts.
It's odd. A few months ago, people mocked my love of the Redskins.

I really get down on fairweather fans when they support other teams - e.g. the Eagles - but seem to think its okay when its the Skins; my attitude is generally the more the merrier.
All of us have documented published proof of our true fandom however, so we should all be proud of that. |

All I see here is that stupid star. There is a store in the mall near my house that sells nothin but cowpie gear.No matter,This mofo rolls in his burgandy van with the redskins bumper sticker and wears his gear right in their cowgirl faces.HAIL TO THE REDSKINS! Looking forward to the team rolling into town next year and squashing the Texans.

Re: Can't swing dead cat w/o hit'n a Skins Fan NOW
I still go to high school and I got friends that weren't fans last year and now are. It is disgusting.
One of my friends was giving a cowboy fan the business after we won and was just talking endlessly. I couldn't handle listening to this person talking about how good the skins were because he wasn't a fan the year before and i did something i never do-stick up for a dallas fan-. I told him not to talk because he wasn't ever a fan until we started winning and atleast the dallas fan was a fan last year when they were 6-10. I can't stand all these fair weather whores. I know so many people that can't name half the players on the team but still think they are fans because they wear their stupid jerseys |

Re: Can't swing dead cat w/o hit'n a Skins Fan NOW
The fairweather fans may be bad, but they are good for the Redskins even if they think the Ade is a hotty. But what's worse than them are the media, who have jumped on the bandwagon after leaving us for dead after the Raiders game. Sean Salisberry, Berman, SI thugs, and others still don't give our defense or Brunell credit while kissing our tails. They are the worst bunch of fairweather fans out there.

Re: Can't swing dead cat w/o hit'n a Skins Fan NOW
who cares? the more the merrier; the only thing that matters is that the ones who were there all along know it and that the team feels the love from eryone who shows up. ( besides, we all know how much easier it is to be a fan of a winner)
