coverage sacks

don't know if anyone mentioned this earlier this week, but what was up with the skins' secondary. It was supposed to be beat up, but Bledsoe was dropped or hurried all game partly because he sat in the pocket looking for open receivers. If we can get that kind of performance from the secondary this time around we are going get to Eli often. Especially, with our D-line intact. And that .gif of Glen pulling back when Taylor was bearing down on him was classic. I'd love to see more of that.

Re: coverage sacks

GW started each play with his smash-mouth D line as a change up for the cowroids!

Re: coverage sacks

We did have some coverage sacks but most of the sacks recently have been from a push from the front seven.

Having Griffin and Salave'a back in there makes all the difference. Both guys are loads to block and Griffin is very good and getting penetration and wreaking havoc against both the run and pass.

Re: coverage sacks

Yeah, The Skins did not Blitz much last Sunday. They just brought 4 guys and dropped everyone else back. I want to see Eli on the ground tomorrow. I also want to see Tiki on the ground in the backfield!

Re: coverage sacks

this guy on foxsports says the giants should be scared of philip daniels now because he had one good game...i hope he's right but i doubt it

Phillip Daniels vs. the Giants medical staff Daniels tied a Redskins franchise record against the Cowboys with four sacks. Not the kind of pass rusher Tom Coughlin wants to see when his offensive line is banged up. Whether it's Luke Petitgout, David Diehl or Bob Whitfield, whoever lines up across from Daniels is going to have his hands full.

Re: coverage sacks

Daniels had a great game no doubt, but it's not like he turned in to a dominant DE overnight.

That being said he has to be brimming with confidence right about now and you can't underestimate the effect that can have.

Re: coverage sacks

I don't think we will get to Eli as many times as we got to Bledsoe. Bledsoe has lead feet and is a sitting duck. We may get a lot of hurries. We can't have any missed tackles or assignments in this game like last one. small passes can't turn into large RACs. And of course we have to tackle barber when we first hit him. But I still think the secondary did a great job last week considering all of the news regarding how banged up they were.

Re: coverage sacks

Yeah and you see how Parcells played mind games listing only DE Canty on the injury report before the game. Maybe he thought that would make his players play better through their nagging injuries.

Re: coverage sacks

Daniels will probably own whoever he lines up against, as Kareem McKenzie likely wont play. I expect serious pressure all day. We are going to beat their ass.
