Approval Rating???
No, not talking about President Bush, I'm talking about Gibbs and company so far. Did this rout of the Dallas Cowturds change your mind about Gibbs in anyway? The coaching staff called one heck of a game today on both sides of the ball! This is starting to remind me of the old days when no matter what during the season, the Redskins would bring out their best this time of year.

Re: Approval Rating???
As everybody knows, I am a staunch Joe Gibbs supporter. I haven't thought that he's been perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but today's game is reason why I'm patient with this current coaching staff and team. Today we played like champions, and we'll have to play like that again next week. I except a very different game against the Giants this go around!

Re: Approval Rating???
There are certain calls through out the season made by Gibbs I didn't agree with but to be honest Gibbs' leadership has never been an issue. The problem that has plagued this team has been execution.

No, this game has not changed my opinion of Joe Gibbs. Joe Gibbs is the one man who can fix the Redskins both because he has a 1st class football mind AND because he is the one man Daniel Snyder won't interfere with.
btw, This game was perfect Gibbsball: smothering defense, ball control running to open up the pass, no turnovers. ![]() |

Re: Approval Rating???
It appeared to me from the start, that the Redskins watched the last game with a critical view and realized how to beat Dallas at their own game. Smash mouth football. We stomped on their necks and never let off. Even when Dallas scored, it was embarrassing because it was too late. Gibbs is everything a player and fan could imagine for his team. He really understands how to win the big games. And believe me, he'll be back in his office reviewing tapes of the Giants and their weakest link, Eli Manning.

Re: Approval Rating???
I've tended to be fairly critical of Gibbs, particularily his playcalling. Today I saw things finally coming together. I was impressed with the playcalling and game-planning and I think Gibbs is proving that his methods still work. Whether we make the playoffs or not, I am excited about this team in a way I have not been since before the start of last season.

Re: Approval Rating???
I don't know that the playcalling was all that different from what it usually is, everything just fell into place perfectly today.
Gibbs and the rest of the staff had the team prepared today. That's what it's all about, coming ready to play. And they were ready. And when I say team I mean all 53 players. They didn't get much love in the box score but it was great to see guys like Harris and Holdman come back from injuries and fan abuse (for lack of a better term) and really step it up Sunday.

Re: Approval Rating???
The people that two Summer's ago thought the hiring of Gibbs meant instant winning and playoffs last season are the ones that were sour grapes about Gibbs this year. I remember some on this sight pointed to Parcells and said Parcells won in his first year with the Cowboys, why can't Gibbs?
Well how do like Parcells now Biotch?!?!? Gibbs process of building a team takes time. Getting rid of the losing mentality and all the mental mistakes is not done over night. ONE of the keys to it is Brunnell. While he is not perfect by any stetch, his mistake free game today shows how well the team can be if our Qb plays well. Ramsey proved could not play well over a period of time, so Gibbs gave up on him. Fair or not, Gibbs moved on. It is proving to be the right move now. While Brunnell still has occasional bad moments, he is starting to find his rythm and we are winning now. Brunnell is not losing games with int's, sacks and mental mistakes, like some of our more recent QB's. |

Re: Approval Rating???
i was afraid after the last two weeks of dreadful offense that we'd gone back to the failed 2004 scheme... i was hoping against hope it was a rope-a-dope for tuna but doubted it. Turns out it was, he used a flea flicker, a reverse, and deep passes to moss in coverage. He didn't need to do much after that.

Re: Approval Rating???
My opinion has not changed, I had a good opinion of Gibbs et al and I still do. However I still have questions/concerns about what's going to happen when gibb's is gone.

We might make the playoffs, we might not. Either way, I am very excited with the direction this team is taking.
