Who Should We Have Drafted?
Im sitting here watching the lions game and it got me thinking about Mike Williams, which got me thinking about the draft.A lot of people on the board wanted us to draft Williams, hes had virtually no impact in Detroit, but are wr corp is very thin and he would be very helpful right now.Matt Jones leads the rookie wr class in receptions, which just blows my mind since he was a qb,strike 1,plus he's white!! strike 2,lol
Antrell Rolle has a few more tackle then Carlos Rogers, but their about even. 10 games into the season i think our biggest weakness is def line,if we had the draft to do over again and we still had the same picks in the draft,I would take Demarcus Ware and then maybe a cb or wr with the 25th pick instead of Campbell,so the question is are you happy with our draft picks? or who do you think we should have picked? |

Re: Who Should We Have Drafted?
Can I ask anyone who's watching this Lions game a question...how the HELL do you pull JOey Harrington? The kid played a good, solid first half in my opinion, with freaking Falcons up his ass the entire half and they pulled him??
I think this kid is going to be good once he gets a fresh start elsewhere. I cant belive they pulled him.

Re: Who Should We Have Drafted?
Mariucci has a love affair with Jeff Garcia. I find it hypocritical for Mariucci to pull Harrington when every receiver has dropped the ball half of the game. At first I thought Harrington was putting a little too much zip on the ball but with Roy Williams falling down, Charles Rodgers lost, and Mike Williams having not a clue what he's doing I'm convinced that Mariucci won't be in Detroit too much longer either.

Re: Who Should We Have Drafted?
I am not going to say that we should or should not have drafted. At this point, it is way to early to evaluate Carlos Roders. Plus, it's somewhat unfair to say that we should have drafted a wideout because we are now thin at wideout; who could guess we'd lose our #2 and #3 wideouts?
As for the Lions game, I pray the Lions pull out a big upset because I don't want to battle the Falcons for a wildcard spot. |

Re: Who Should We Have Drafted?
No, I'm not kidding, he has a lot more potential than Carlos Rogers or Mike Williams. I would take him or Merriman.

Re: Who Should We Have Drafted?
I cant belive were having this discussion after a half a season. ESPECIALLY the way our secondary has been burned this year.

Re: Who Should We Have Drafted?
i still think bmw will be a great receiver... he's just raw for the pro game right now.
having said that, hindsight says we needed a d-lineman more than anything. merriman looks unreal, but the 8th spot was too high for him at the draft. |

Re: Who Should We Have Drafted?
I still would have liked getting Chris Canty when we had the oppurtunity near the end of Day 1 of the draft.

Re: Who Should We Have Drafted?
I think we should have taken at least one defensive lineman. Chris Canty was a good possibility for us, but we selected a running back 4 picks ahead of him.
Carlos Rogers had to be taken where he was. It's still very early, he hasn't had enough time to make an impact, and we needed the heir apparent to Fred Smoot. The pick we may regret is Jason Campbell. I'm not predicting a bust or anything, but there could have been other players taken who would have provided more of an immediate impact at a position many of us knew was a weak spot: the D-line. |
