Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet
In the beginning of the season, if you would have told me at the end of week 11 we would be a .500 team and still play the remaining teams in our division that are ahead of us at home, then i would have been ecstatic. Although we have been playing poorly as of late, please don't give up on this team yet. A mere 2 games out of first place is very reasonable, I mean Dallas plays Denver and the Giants play Seattle this week. If we could some how pull out a win this week against S.D. and those two teams lose, we are right back in it. I may be totally wrong about this, but i still believe we are a playoff team. Lets not just throw in the towel as fans just because we had some games that didn't go our way. Our schedule is very favorable down the stretch.

A win this week, and i'll start to change my tune. As long as the team we saw yesterday is out there farting around, I dont like our chances.

Re: Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet.
i will repost this for the third time
We were supposed to win 1 out of Tampa and Eagles, 3 of the next 4 and 2 of the last 3 division games. WE DID WIN 1 out of tampa and ealges and we have lost one but if we win our next three we are money and back on track, had we won the raiders and lost to the chargers the season wouldn't be over! ITS NOT OVER! until we lose two more no way i bend over and take it. who knows giants playing the seahawks at seahawks, and dallas playing denver we could be only one game behind. the next week giants and dallas play each other and one has to lose,so i am told, and we might be tied with one of them sons a bitches, we are going for the division and not stopping till we get there. THE BEAST OF THE EAST!! anyone with me? The beast of the east?, th the b beas o the hell with it. |

Re: Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet.
No way am I giving up, these other teams are going to beat up on each other and then we have to do the same. Very resonable that we can put together some wins these next couple weeks. Just like many said as long as we do not see the offense we saw against Raiders and please stop turning the ball over. The team has the capability to win, but please stop after making big plays give up two. One step forward two step back approach is killing us. Damn it Skins turn this shit around I am tired again of hearing all the Cowterds shitty comments.

Re: Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet.
I have more confidence now than at 5-3. The Redskins staff will be up all night this week changing the players that have consistenly given up big plays or made no plays at all. Our back is against the wall but so is the rest of the NFC teams at 7-3. The losses will begin in Dallas, New York, Atlanta and Tampa. They all have won games by the skin of their teeth and I see us finishing strong this year at 11-5 or 10-6. It is possible for the simple fact that our offense can score if plays are called that involve every offensive weapon we have. No more deep passes to Taylor Jacobs, he looked average against rookie CBs. We're not out of it at all. In fact our season begins this week.

Re: Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet.
I think winning this week isn't just an option, but it's the only option. The team cannot afford to lose three weeks in a row. I believe a two game winning streak gives this team hope. I believe a three game winning streak puts this team right back in the thick of the division crown hunt.
I believe to have any hope at all of going to the playoffs, they must first beat the Chargers this week, and build a win streak - not a win one, lose one thing. I don't even believe losing to the Chargers this week and winning the rest of their games will help. I know that might sound odd given the fact that they'd be 10-6, but I just have my doubts about a 10-6 NFC East team making it to the playoffs unless they are in second place. Thinking optimistically, I don't believe this team will have a losing record this year. I think our record will reflect our improvement. It might be 8-8, but I don't see us having a record less than that.

Re: Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet.
It starts this week--a win against the Chargers would do a lot.
It surely aint over, but it's getting tougher all the time. We need to get hot, and win games.

Re: Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet.
I never give up until we're mathematically ruled out of the playoff picture. Seen too much craziness in my 33 years. Remember when the Vikings were what 8-0 and missed the playoffs!? Many stories. Won't give up til there is no possible chance. At this point I feel we win out lose 1 more we're in and 2 more losses maybe and 8-8 Skins are watching from the couch come January. But as in poker anything can happen. Never say die!

Re: Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet.
were done, you might as well stick a fork in us and have us for thanksgiving dinner.our problems are not magically going to fix themselves
1.our def line sucks, backups suck, injuries are killing us,cant get to the qb even in an all out blitz 2.our punter sucks,he's killing with field position 3.our punt returner sucks, thrash is a great faircatcher, thats it,we keep getting pinned deep in our own territory by the other teams punts with no return, how many times have you seen thrash faircatch the ball no matter where it was out with room to run? .pass protection sucks,it was better at the beginning of the yr,the raiders were ranked where on def? and they dominated our line, brunell had no time to pass, and that was in max protection and playaction only one of these things has anychance of fixing itself this yr,punt returns, since thrash is out moss might be returning kicks, that might help, but he probably has orders to faircatch it so he doesnt get hurt |

Re: Please Dont Give Up On This Team Yet.
I can't take the optimistic opinions in this thread as anything but blind faith and hope unless you give me a HOW. How are we going to win these games?
Right now our offense is strategically limited by the fact that no WR opposite Moss can step up and become a threat. We're strategically limited on defense because our blitzes aren't effective at reaching the QB, and our corners (other than Springs) are not quite as lock-down as they need to be in order to run all these blitzes. You guys have repeatedly stated that there is a will. I have no doubt that the team has guts and will fight hard. And where there is a will, there is a way. But you still have to find the way. Anybody see a way to win? |
