Re: Skins final record will be...
As almost ALL posts since the cataclism with Norv have reflected, we have a few problems. The question for me is do we need to tweak some things here and there (with a few player changes) or is it re-build time?

Re: Skins final record will be...
8-8 is pretty realistic, of course 10 or 11 would be nice but again I'm trying to be realistic. No sense in keeping the hopes up too high anymore.

Re: Skins final record will be...
I voted 9-7, just because you would expect us to win some of the upcoming games, but the play has been so inconsistent. I think we are capable of winning the rest of the games, but we should have won three or four of the games we lost. I have never seen a team play itself or coach itself out of games you should win. It has been almost scary predictable. I was at the game yesterday and I swear I looked at my buddy as much as I hate bashing the skins when we were backed up and began losing the field position battle this is where we have been all year, get up on a team and let them back in the game. three plays later Portis laid the ball on the ground. It is like a well written book that things are going to turn at pivitol points in a game for us. Though I believe we only gave up three points these things have haunted us all year in nearly every game. I would have to say if it was not for our turnovers and failure to put teams away we could finish out 11-5 or 10-6, but 9-7 the way we are playing is optimistic. The mindset needs to change for the players and coaches to get away from continually saying we are going to be in battles week after week and it is going to come down to the last plays to decide. Though it may be a reality, you have to talk it up and have the mindset you are going to go in and blow this team up go for the kill. If you continually live up to that expectation of you can hang with a team to the last few minutes and hope the ball falls the right way you will play to that standard and coach to that standard. This is not a bash at any coaches or players, just seems like a team that is settled for mediocrity, maybe not the right words. Every player and coach in interview utter those words that we will be in hard fought battles all year and just don't get it done when were supposed to. Supposed to should be the whole game, not the last three minutes, the last defensive drive, the last offensive drive.

Re: Skins final record will be...
The Skins are 5-5 at this point. Brunell has fumbled the ball 7 times this year, including 4 in the last 3 games (he's lost 6 of 7...David Carr leads the league in fumbles with 14, and has only lost 5). Moss is only receiver threat left, as Patten is injured and Jacobs and Thrash aren't very good replacements. The Skins have had too many injuries to the D Line and Secondary.
With 6 games left, 3 against division rivals, it's tough to say exactly what will happen. Vinny Cerrato on Elliot in the Morning said they will probably look at some receivers this week, and could possibly sign 1 or 2. Rich Parson is an option at the #4 receiver slot if need be. Cooley has stepped up big time, but will be blanketed like Moss from here on out. I'm saying the Skins go 3-3 the rest of the way. They beat Arizona, lose to the Chargers and split with the Rams, Eagles, Giants, and Cowboys. 8-8 is definitely better than the last few years, but from the last few weeks, this team still has to make strides to compete with the big boys.

Re: Skins final record will be...
I would look at 7-9 or 6-10 again. We will not win on the road again. So we will have to scratch and claw to win a few of our remaining home games, which are tough games......San Diego, Dallas, New York. I see us finishing the season winning 2 of our final 6 games because we turn the ball over entirely too much. We are -13 in takeaways and for those of you that think its going to go away....think again.

Call me crazy, but I still think we can make it to 10-6, but will be a tie breaker out of the playoffs.

Re: Skins final record will be...
I voted 9-7. That will be tough, but it's realistic. Really I think are only hope is to sweep Philly, Dallas, and NY. Luckily two of those games are at home, and Philly looks like they are packing it in for the season.

Re: Skins final record will be...
I think we have a better chance than I'd have thought Saturday against San Diego if Gates is still hurt going into our game. St. Louis looks very weak right now but then again so did Oakland. Arizona's Wrs kind of worry me against our cbs. And I think we can beat all of our divisional opponents. The main games that worry me r Arizona (who'da thunk it), San Diego cuz they still have LT, and Dallas cuz it's Dallas. But if the team was able to play complete games for the rest of the year the record has a chance to wind up @11-5.

Re: Skins final record will be...
I voted for 8-8. The coaches suck. The front office sucks. And most of the players suck.
