DENVER Only one team in modern NFL history has gone undefeated, and the Washington Redskins will not join the 1972 Miami Dolphins in that lofty category now.

The Denver Broncos took care of that yesterday, handing the Redskins their first defeat of the season.

But the Redskins did not go gently, despite numerous opportunities to pack it in and head for a nice, warm shower.
