Should we have traded Patrick Ramsey?

If we know Patrick Ramsey is not going to be the future here, why didn't we trade him. How desperate where the Jets? Its Early in the season and they still have a shot only 4 weeks in. whats a comporable trade?

Re: Should we have traded Patrick Ramsey?

maybe because mark brunell hasn't shown he can complete a full season healthy, and joe gibbs doesn't want jason campbell to be the backup?

No we may need him at some point this season. What if we are 9 and 3 and Brunell goes down I don't think we want a rookie with no experence playing. Now if were 4 and 8 it would have benn a good idea because Campbell would come in so the coaches could get a look at him.

Ya keep Ramsey incase Brunell goes down. Campbell will hopefully be a great QB one day, but he's got a long way to go.

I like the idea of bringing along campbell slowly.

I think it will work out well for us.

Re: Should we have traded Patrick Ramsey?

I think we should've. When the offseason comes around teams will be looking to build through the draft and with our track record, teams interested in Ramsey will call our bluff as they have done. They will wait for his release or negotiate for a low draft pick. Campbell probably isn't getting alot of reps right now and who knows if Brunell will play every game here on out?

i think the redskins have already shown a lack of faith in patrick ramsey.i think they should trade him at seasons end.i personally like ramsey and think he will be a solid plyer in the nfl

No, we are going to need him before this season is over. I've got a feeling that once he gets back behind center it will be hard to take him out again.

But for now, I hope that Mark and the offense continue to improve!

Re: Should we have traded Patrick Ramsey?

Wilbon said in his chat that the Jets only offered a sixth rounder.

Re: Should we have traded Patrick Ramsey?

We should have traded him assuming he was worth some value. If Gibbs knew damn well he wasn't going to play him, he should have gotten something for him. Simple as that. However, if all we were offered was a 6th rounder -- the right decesion was made.

hmmmmm we would have traded him to the.....jets. Now have the jets taught us nothing about why it is important to have backup QBs?
