Redskins Scoring in 2005

Opinions may change as the preseason progresses but for now how many points a game do you think the Skins will average during the regular season?

Re: Redskins Scoring in 2005

I am going with 21-25 not because of the so-called improved offense, but because of an improved special teams. I think our field position will be much more improved this year enabling us to get the ball, if not in the endzone, then through the uprights....
I also think we'll see a few more kickoffs and punts returned this year...Just seven more points a game will do fine provided that our defense produce the same stats as last year...and i think they will under GW.

I went 16-20. Despite the apparent change to a more explosive offense, I think the "run-first" mentality will, and should, remain. The faster receivers will allow for wider running lanes, and the defense will keep us in most games. Look for about 19 ppg.

I think 21-25 is a pretty realistic expectation.

If the offense does average between 21 and 25 and the defense holds their own, this should be a 10 win team.

I think if you add luck to that equation it is a definite 10 win team. It seemed like we had more luck going for us last year thatn in previus seasons but we couldn't captialize on it. Here's to hoping we have more of the same but better capitalization.

if we can't score 21, we're out of the playoffs...

Re: Redskins Scoring in 2005

Defense and Special Teams will either score us or get us in position to score at least 14 points per game. I think the offense can handle another 11 per game. I voted for 25+.

Re: Redskins Scoring in 2005

I'm going with 21-25. I wouldnt be suprised if its a tad lower than that, though. I'm expecting some improvements this year for sure, but I dont think they will be absoultley over the top improvments. I think we can be a touchdown better, at least. We averaged like 15 pts a game last year, so I think 22 is a reasonable goal.

Well we'll cancel each other out because i voted 21-25 and now that I think about it I think we're gonna average 18 pts a game, which isn't bad... just if we have a rough start its gonna drop the average.

16-20 but could slip down a braket. I think by week two we'll have a much better idea what this offense is WILLING to do.

It seems like the only luck we had last year was bad luck. Remember the Green Bay game? Remember NUMEROUS bad calls/HUGE bad plays.

With a much more efficient offense and a killer D we'll be up in the TD per QTR category, I think we are about ready to go point scoring crazy.

21-25, based on the improved blocking schemes for Portis...and we drafted 2 wrecking balls for goal line situations.

Re: Redskins Scoring in 2005

I voted 21-25 cuz of not only the adjustments and additions(some by subtraction) to the offense, but also the explosiveness of the return game and the fact that the defense is entering its second year of Williams' leadership and should be able to have a better idea of how and when to exploit the weaknesses of an opposing offense.
