DP: Redskins have open slots on defense

Ashburn - The hottest topic of any training camp is always the battle for roster spots, and Redskins assistant head coach-defense Gregg Williams discussed the subject at length during a Tuesday afternoon press conference at Redskins Park.

I love Williams, he is such a great pick up by Gibbs. I think its awsome how he always stresses versatiliy in his schemes and personel.

I like Lavar, but I really wonder if his ego and "superstar" status will fit in with this blue collar, no name type defense. L.A. talks a big game, but we'll see. Last time he was asked to be part of a unit under a respected, hard nosed D-coordinator (M. Lewis), he bitched! To his credit, he got 11 SACKS that year!

Remember the Falcons preseason game last year? Lavar is going to be huge for this defense when healthy.

Williams is great.............I hope Snyder is paying him a LOT to keep him around until Gibbs decides to retires.......

And thanks Joe Crisp for all your hard work too..........

I loved seeing Vick get SMOKED last year. Shows that he really is mortal.
