Dolphins Show Only Lukewarm Interest in Barrow

Does Gibbs know what he's doing? I had thought that Snyder had made a huge move to get Gibbs back, but the personnel moves he's made seem questionable so far.

The Miami Herald reports the Redskins this week called the Dolphins to offer LB Mike Barrow in a trade. Barrow, a former University of Miami and Homestead High standout, has refused the team's requests to take a pay cut. The Dolphins, apparently realizing that Washington may release Barrow, showed only lukewarm interest, according to an NFL source.

And from a guy with "PhinFever" in his sig.

6-10 isn't very good. But it's miles ahead of 4-12.

True. I'll never understand how A.J. Feeley was worth a 2nd round pick

Or how a supplementary draft d-lineman can leave the field in tears during a practice

the skins need to trade him to the pats, they're losing all their linebackers.

Hey, I'm just calling them as I see them from the other side of the league. I won't argue about the terrible decisions that were made in Miami. Hopefully things have turned the corner. I was just looking for some insight from your perspective since there seems to be some interest from Saban in Barrow.

Fair enough. I'd say from our side that Barrow was a pretty expensive "maybe", especially considering his advanced age. If he's healthy, he's retarding the growth of the young players, and if he's not 100%, then he costs a ton.

Now that he's on the open market, I'd suggest Saban bring him in for a run through. I'm sure he has a few more miles left in him, but not at his Redskin salary.

yes Gibbs knows what he is doing. If barrow refused to take a pay cut then he has to go. He has to prove that he is worth the money and so far he hasn't done that. Maybe we made a puposed trade for Ricky Williams, since it was with Miami...

Re: Dolphins Show Only Lukewarm Interest in Barrow

we have way too much depth at LB to keep Barrow on our team with his kind of salary. this move narrows the battle for starting MLB, which shows that Gibbs and GW believe in the guys we've got.

Re: Dolphins Show Only Lukewarm Interest in Barrow

barrow was brought in because he knows our DC's scheme (greg williams and him worked together in houston for three years), and he had never missed a game till we got him

either way, last year pierce stepped up, and since barrow's mileage in the NFL looks extremely limited now, our coaching staff would prefer to use our future propects instead of a now overpriced and underperforming (due to injuries) MLB.

If the fins have a glaring need at MLB he might give you a season to find someone else, but he's someone we should have tossed before the end of last season.

I'd tell you about his play style etc, but i can't since we've never seen him on the field here

Re: Dolphins Show Only Lukewarm Interest in Barrow

I really don't think Miami's hurting at linebacker, so, if we do sign him it'll be a surprise to me. We all ready have too many players with character issues and injury history. I understand what Saban's doing, but I'm not totally happy with some of the players he's brought in with character issues. The sooner we trade Ricky Williams the happier I'll be. I'm in the minority on that though. I didn't see anything in his apology (which I found lame) that makes me think he wont' do it again.

I have always had great respect for Gibbs, but his moves haven't panned out so well. Some of it is bad luck, too, in Sean Taylor. Also, who would have thought that Brunell would have played so terrible last year. I didn't understand the signing at the time though as I thought Patrick Ramsey is starting material and was a lot cheaper.

You forgot to ridicule your team on one position, the one that really counts, QB. Gus as your starter, come on dude not a character issue but a solid back up. Who would Saban trade for Sean Taylor
