I think we should celebrate Drop it like it's Hot! day every July 27th. This will be done by randomly dropping objects and singing folk songs about Marty Schottenheimer.
Potential song selections:

"The torrid tale of Tony Banks"
"I hate John Elway"
"I hate Earnest Byner"
"There is no Neon in Oklahoma"
"Train my way or the highway"
"Darrell needs some coaching"

Re: How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?

If I do remember Gardner for anything, it will actually be a good thing he did. The game against Dallas on Monday night last year, where he absolutley exploded, is engraved in my mind. I dont know if its Gardners performance or the face that me and a Washington Redskin (Gardner), both ripped off our headware (his helmet,my hat) and screamed the same explitive (f---) at exactly the same time as time expired......

I wont forget about his drop this year vs NYG either.

i voted for the parties, cause they were off the hook. ON the field however, I'll remember him for the mnf game agianst the cowboys when he looked like the only reciever with some heart.

the game he had against the Panthers during his rookie campaign was one of the sweetest things I'd ever seen especially since they were losing before he and Banks tore it up and stormed back to win the game. I still think he scored the winning td instead of being ruled down near the goalline.

I'll remember Rod as a talented wide receiver who never got a fair chance in a town that never embraced him and as 1st round draft pick that never reached his potential because of plain and simple bad luck.

Sincerely,

M. Westbrook

Exactly! But what's as impressive is not only his mad crazy parties but the fact that in spite of the parties he never missed a game or even practice as far as I remember

very wierd, i have that on my computer, and i watched it over and over, and played it slow motion earlier today.
I was thinking about that darn helmet to helmet hit. Skrew the cowgirls.

Now atleast we won't have to hear "Redskins Rod Gardner was not at camp today because he was excused from all offseason workouts. It seems as if the Redskins will be forced to let the former 1st round draft pick go due to disputes between the team and him."

Michael Westbrook with less anti-social tendencies.

That's how I'll remember the Rod Gardner Era in Washington...

Re: How should we remember Gardner's time as a Redskin?

basically i'll remember him as the personification of Redskin Post-Posse receiving mediocrity.

hoping Gardner's hands would grow as an adult instead of giving other faster guys on the roster (ahem McCants) more chances to prove themselves is beyond me.

Gardner's Redskin career will be rememebered as half good, half bad.. All in all, 50-50.

Sorry, that was WAY too easy and it hadn't been said yet.
