My Redskins Theater
I know i've promised pictures before, but i've kept it so dirty that my wife wouldn't let me post any pics. Now after a once over with a vaccum, here are some pics of "The Hog Pen" Home Theater that i've been building for about 9 months.
I know the jerseys are old (Smoot and Coles) but I bought them a while ago and who woulda thunk they'd both be gone. Besides they have almost no value on ebay now too. I've done all the work and installation myself and with the help of my dad and brother. I know it doesn't seem like much, but when you can watch all your Skins games on a 110" screen in 6.1 surround sound, and play your skins franchise on Madden and NFL 2k5 on the same size screen, it makes all the difference. I'll post updates too as I do more work.

Re: My Redskins Theater
Nice screen. Suggestions would be to paint a wall that yellow gold and burn the jerseys

Re: My Redskins Theater
Looking sweet!
You should frame the jerseys. My plan is to have someone paint the Skins logo on the wall of my yet to be built Redskins bar. |

Re: My Redskins Theater
That's nice man. It looks like your own little private space so you can focus on the game.
I look at my 53" TV and I'm filled with envy...thanks a lot! |

Re: My Redskins Theater
I was thinking about doing a burgandy wall instead of grey, but i think i'd leave the gold out because of the extra glare on the screen it would create.
Also the walls are all double insulated so my wife and kids don't hear when i'm yelling at the screen. I said some really awful things about brunell and his family last season so i'm taking all the necesarry precautions.

Re: My Redskins Theater
nice man, looking at that 100 inch tv makes me jealous and ashamed of my 32 inch in the living room. but seriously, i would take those coles and smoot jerseys and put them in a metal garbage can with lots of gas, and burn them. i would buy some of the classics if i were you, like jurgenson, or some others. paint the walls burgundy.

Re: My Redskins Theater
I'm also in the process of building a HTPC (Home Theater PC) and my goal is to record ever game to the hard drive and make a highlight video at season's end. I've got a 200gb HD and 2 40gb SATA drives so I should have more than enough room for that.

Re: My Redskins Theater
Sweet place, kingerock! :headbange
Don't worry about the old jerseys. I've got the same problems and more: Coles, Smoot, Bailey and Davis. I've got them all moved to a little "Ex-Redskins corner" in my Redskins Room-- except for Smoot, he's still out where everyone can see him. I just couldn't bring myself to put him in "the corner". The guy was just so friendly and such a joy to interview (not to mention the fact that he played his guts out while he was a Redskin), I'm probably going to reserve a place of honor for him in perpetuity. You just can't spend that much money on jerseys and then toss them. Each of those guys provided some great memories for Redskins fans-- except for maybe Coles, who despite making some great plays, left with such bitterness and acrimony, and inflicted so much woe upon the Redskins' salary cap that it will be difficult to remember him with anything but disdain... Okay, maybe we should burn the Coles jerseys. :FIREdevil

Re: My Redskins Theater
isnt 6.1 an extra speaker, so instead of 5 speakers you would have 6 speakers plus the sub woofer... i think...
