What Position is Our Weakness

I strongly believe that we still need to upgrade the DE position. Whats Everybody else think?

I think our defensive line, while not really the strength of our defense, thanks to Williams' scheme, it does it's job. They allow the blitzers to do their job and thats all we want from them!

Our biggest weakness is probably at WR in my eyes.

I think kicker is a minor concern. Is John Hall going to stay healthy this year?

Untill our WR step it up and prove me wrong. I would have to go with them.

1. QB
2. WR
3. K
4. KR/PR

All of these positions need to be dramatically improved this year if we expect to contend for the playoffs.

Re: What Position is Our Weakness

With the stress fracture in Carlos Rogers' foot, I'm going to say CB is the weakness. I like Springs and I like Harris more than most people, but you need more than 2 good CBs in this league. I know Rogers is likely to be physically ready by the season's start, the question is will he know the scheme at that point? He's going to miss a portion of camp with this problem, that could set him back on learning our defense.

Until I see him making progress, I'm saying CB.

WR is iffy too, though I'm counting on Jacobs coming through there.

Excellent point. Even with a healthy Rogers, relying on a rookie CB to make your defense great is not a good plan. I expect Wilds to be the nickel at the beginning of the season, with Rogers supplanting him shortly thereafter. Barring injury, Rogers won't get any starts until week 10 (unless we are out of it).

Cool Re: What Position is Our Weakness

Guard - Dockery is a good backup but should not be starting.

O-Line depth....Brown and Dockery are the only proven backups we have.

DE and DT need serious upgrading. Phillip Daniels is very good. Wynn is good but could be downgraded to backup on alot of teams. Someone needs to fill in there. Griffin is incredible. Boschetti could be very good...huge upside...and huge question mark. Salave'a could easily be replaced and upgraded. Is Charles Howard going to be a backup for us? Will he be practice squad? Massive upside and massive question mark. Noble is injured so I wont include him for now.

QB has been upgraded ALOT.

CB is not a problem. Someone has forgotten about Wilds and Hawkins as good backups.

Kicker is fine either way we go. Chandler is more efficient and Hall has a longer leg.

Kick returner we have a glut of them....Moss, Patten, Jacobs, Brown, etc. ad nausem.

Talking Re: What Position is Our Weakness

Completely off the subject....Are we becoming the Steelers fan site? That wallpaper and Warpath logo look like they should be advertising the Steelers not the Redskins. I dont understand what Redskins have to do with steel plates....I guess given the ST situation I could think of at least one thing....

Which wallpaper are you referring to? Do you know that at the bottom left corner of the site there is a style chooser? I prefer the 50's style myself. I am curious which one you are using that makes you think this looks like a steelers site.

Re: What Position is Our Weakness

I'm definitely going to have to pick an offensive position. I'm also going with WR due to how unproven they are. I FULLY expect them to prove us all wrong however...

Re: What Position is Our Weakness

"Phillip Daniels is very good."

Ive gotta respectfully disagree with you here. Phillip Daniels has shown me nothing, nada, zilch. He is exactly what my buddie who is a Bears fan says he is, a very often injured player who plays well below his potential. How many games did he actually play in last year like 4 wasn't it? If he doesn't produce this year he is gone. On another note, I know I threw this out there before, but why don't we get that WR everyone talks about in the supplemental draft? We could have him for a 3rd round pick Im sure, and who are we gonna get in the 3rd round next year anyway? Where do we need to upgrade the most? Vinny Cerrato. He is horrible. We need a good GM to work with Gibbs, Cerrato has made really lousy decisions and he has way too much influence on Danny Boy. Cerrato is the reason in the past that we often went after the big name players and overpaid for them.
