Allen's salary all guaranteed? 😐 I'm guessing, but I'd expect Deebo's deal to be re-worked post draft once they have a better picture of the roster and how he's likely to perform.

I'd say Garrett would be a great pick up, but he'd chew up a lot of that and/or into the next few years. Hendrickson's deal would probably be easier to swallow?

When you see a move listed as having positive numbers, it means it's adding/creating more cap space. Allen's $16.4M figure presented above means cutting him created $16.4M in cap space.

Negative numbers, presented with brackets around them, indicate the move cost the Ders that much in cap space.

OP updated for the resignings of P Tress Way for one year $2.8M and TE John Bates for three years, terms unknown so I've provided my wild ass guess of cap cost at $2.5M. I'll update once we know terms.

new wrinkle in insured contracts... was allen's contract insured? if so, there's a cap rebate for the time he missed. (cleveland insured DW's contract, so they're getting space back from the time he missed. I wonder if he magically breaks an acl in preseason...)

OP updated for the acquisition of Javon Kinlaw where I wild ass guessed at the cap hit and called it $7M. And the acquisition of Laremy Tunsil (!), whose contract will carry $21.3M on the Ders books for 2025 and 2026.

More cap space could be freed if he's extended.

I'm seeing Kinlaw's deal reported as 3Y/45M with 30M guaranteed. Ugh ... your estimate seemed much more reasonable. I guess that the team sees something that I don't in his resume.

Both things can be true, my estimate of $7.5M was right on the money, it turned out.

His contract is for three years and $45M as reported. It included $16.5M in signing bonus, $1.3M in guaranteed salary in 2025, and $12.2M in guaranteed salary next year in 2026. So that's where the $30M guaranteed comes from, those three things add up to $30M.

The last year of the deal is not guaranteed, his salary would be $12.9M that season if he remains with us. He's got other roster bonuses and workout bonuses, but that's the gist of the deal.

His cap hits will be:

2025: $7.5M ($5.5M for the prorated signing bonus, $1.3M for the guaranteed salary, and $700K in other little bonuses)

2026: $18.4M ($5.5M for the prorated signing bonus, $12.2M for the guaranteed salary, and $700K in other little bonuses)

2027: $19.1M ($5.5M for the prorated signing bonus, $12.9M for non-guaranteed salary, and $700K for other little bonuses)

So you can see a contract reported at an average annual value of $15M per, but engineer the deal such that the cap hit is lower in the first year and higher in the out years, as they've done here.
