Cowboys at Commanders "WTF was that" post game thread

Highlights - congrats Terry McLaurin as that was a career highlight right there.

I'm having a hard time coming up with any more highlights right now.

----------------------------------

Lowlights - where to start.

This offense for 3+ quarters. They really only started clicking once they were down by 11 with 5 minutes left. Wayyyyyy too fucking late to get your shit together boys.

Austin Seibert - time to go practice with the tree again because you got some serious mental issues kid.

Our special teams in general - truly special how awful that was. It was like we saw how poorly their special teams were doing and we were like "hold my beer."

Our ball security - you'd think after the first fumble they would be like "gee let's secure the ball properly next time."

Our hot start to the season - RIP. I'll never trust a DC team that starts 6-2 again.

This team is completely out of sync. Just embarrassing.

I secretly hope Kingsbury gets hired by the Cowboys because I'm not sold on him anymore.

Said this in the other thread:

We've been fortunate in a few games and got breaks that went our way. Fans just were misguided into thinking we were a legit playoff team. This team is still over-playing their talent level. Massive failure on the offense and special teams today.

Re: Cowboys at Commanders "WTF was that" post game thread

Seibert seems hurt still. My wife said from the get go that he seemed off. The extra points and missed fg killed us. When they were trying to tie it at 27 with the extra point, they wanted them to go for 2 - not just to win, but because Seibert was obviously off. Sigh.

Two tds on special teams - that just can’t happen. Blocking a fg and punt - are nice, but not enough. That was hard to watch. Tress did well - but you’re bragging about your punter, well….

BRob being out seemed to hurt us - McNichols showed some nice burst.

Great game by Luvu negated but sloppy play overall.

Awful loss. Makes me feel sick. At least we will get another shot at this team later on.

Re: Cowboys at Commanders "WTF was that" post game thread

The league is catching up to our offense, and I'm jot convinced that Daniel's isn't still hurt in some way. Our d was bound to get tired later in the game as they were out on the field too much with our 3 and out offense. Our kicker is cooked, and we should go baked to the kid that was in when seibert was hurt. Last pat wasn't necessarily his fault. Low snap, bad hold....but that was the 3rd miss.
Special teams was abysmal. 2 return tds.....
No offense to speak of. And now 2 rbs are injured. Ekeler will be gone for at least several weeks, and brob is officially injury prone. Without a run game it really sets our offense back as teams will be able to dial in on Daniel's. Not a lot to be happy about the last 3 weeks. Not a lot at all.
I guess the silver lining is that if/when we win 1 more we've doubled out win total from last year. Def progress. . .I just think the first half of the season inflated how good I think our team is, vs how good our team actually is. We are trending in the right direction, but still have a ways to go to be contenders.

Agree with NCSkins. Reverting to the mean. We overplayed for a while and now we're underplaying. My view is that we don't have the bodies yet and have been living off JD's magic. Can only take you so far--he almost frikin pulled this one out! Lots of work and building to be done.

But, man, FUCK Dallas. Come on. And yeah, go for 2. Have some balls.

I forgot to mention it but I really hope Austin Ekeler is ok. That was a nasty hit he took at the end. Take as much time as he needs to get right.

And of course Chris Rodriguez was released before the game. Hope nobody else grabs him on the waiver wire.

If it comes out that Seibert was still hurt - wtf was he doing out there? Zane Gonzalez did his job perfectly while Seibert was out, there's literally no reason to allow Seibert back in there before he's ready.

Agreed on both points. I was hoping Dan would go for 2 as well, but historically when we do a 2 point conversion to win or lose the game it never bodes well for us. But yes in hindsight I wish Quinn had said "our kicker is having a bad day coming off injury, let's just go for the win this time." This team seems to have a trend of going back to guys who have bad plays though, I noticed it during our winning streak - when a guy drops a pass JD5 is quick to target him again so he gets over it.

The more things change the more they stay the same. I think we have swept the season series against Dallas 6 maybe 7 times in the history of the rivalry. How many times have they swept us? How many times do they beat us despite the expectations we are the better team? Pathetic

Glad I spent time with Family today instead of wasting time in front of the TV.

Sounds like we sucked today.

Oh well. Guess we're back to no expectations again. At least I'm familiar with that feeling.

Yup. Not only work, but we need some more talent on both sides of the ball.

Re: Cowboys at Commanders "WTF was that" post game thread

Talk about a rude awakening. It wasn’t that long ago that JD was a serious candidate for MVP, not simply O- ROY like that simpleton RG-3. It wasn’t that long ago that KK was getting poached as soon as this season ended because he was an offensive mastermind. It wasn’t that long ago that Adam Peters was going on the Mt Rushmore of GM’s because of this unbelievable turnaround. Snyders stink was officially gone and respected men were running the show. We were a secondary away from making serious noise.

This team is not even close to all that, and like NC has said more than once we are dangerously close to being 3-9 right now and no different from last years team. Dangerously close. I feel like such a sucker falling for this team again.

I realize you guys aren't happy but you have a very good team and while it was a loss it was one of the best 4th quarters I can recall.

We were 7-2 G-1, and were a sure shot to make the playoffs with a good chance of winning the division, now we are 7-5 and looking worse every week. We HAD a very good team.

This was a bad bad loss at home vs a Dallas team that sucks. Without the Hail mary this team would be 6-6 right now. What started off a team looking at 13 wins is now hopeful to make it to 10.
