Gibbs and the ex-Skins

So far he's brought back Sellers, Raymer, Rasby and now Thrash.

I was thinking, I wonder how much Gibbs paid attention to the Redskins when he was away. He seems to be bringing back guys that we probably shouldn't have gotten rid of in the first place. It's almost like he's correcting the wrongs of Snyder and Co.

What do you guys think? Just seems kinda strange how he's brought back so many ex-Redskins.

Damn, Joe! That could have been a good minicamp question for him!

Thats a interesting point, Matty. Although I dont think all those guys, were nessicaraly any guys we should have defintley kept (Exception: Cory Raymer, we defintley should have had him on lockdown), they were all guys that had at least a decent tenture with us before. I gotta think he had been watching the Skins at least every now and then, to want to bring all these guys back. I'm happy to have them all, even Thrash.

Given when each of them were brought in or drafted that should speak volumes about Norv Turner or Marty S. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that most if not all were during Norv's era

those guys, if I recall correctly, were on the Skins during the Norval regime. Norval's system was similar to Gibbs' (at least it was suppose to be). Difference between Norv and Gibbs is that Gibbs can get the most out of players, something Norval couldn't, let's see what happens...

Maybe Gibbs could have made Michael Westbrook an all-pro!

I think Gibbs could have taken over from Norval's team and taken us straight to the SB. I'm guessing that Gibbs sees these guys as glue type players. They were here already, and are well standing citizens, therefore leaving a great influence on the team. No problems with that.

Matty, I was thinking the same thing. It's obvious that Coach Gibbs was watching year end and year out at the talent being misused and traded because of coaching decisions or front office demands. I always liked Thrash and Sellers. If Coach Gibbs can fit all of these players into his system then he deserves our gratitude.

Gibbs has said that he didnt spend much time watching football while he was out of the league. I dont know if its Gibbs that deserves the credit, or perhaps the blame for bringing back those players. Only time will tell how they do.
