Ed Reed To The Skins!
Why don't we just trade Sean Taylor for Ed Reed? They both want new contracts. BAL isn't keen on paying out any more dough to satisfy Reed and have demonstrated that they will give players with courtroom and/or jail time a new leash on NFL life. We really don't know how it's possible, but WSH has the deep pockets to re-sign Reed now. And Taylor's contract, as it right now, is very tradeable. BAL has depth in thier secondary (w/ Deion Sanders) to compensate for losing Taylor for a few games due to suspension and if ST does some time, they will be waiting for him at the gate with open arms.

Re: Ed Reed To The Skins!
the cap penalty for taylor would be like $5 million, which would go on our cap next year because its past june first. Even without that we probably cant afford reed anyway. And next year were going to need that $5 million

Re: Ed Reed To The Skins!
Maybe I've missed something here, but when has Taylor or Rosenhaus said that a new contract is needed for him to be on the field this year?
Because he has not attended voluntary sessions does not mean that he is demanding a new contract. Also, I don't think we could afford to trade ST (take an immediate cap hit), sign Reed, and also sign our unsigned rookies. I just don't see this happening.

Re: Ed Reed To The Skins!
it want happen and i don't think that it should happen. reed is a great player but he does not strike fear into opposing wideouts like taylor does on a regularly basis. taylor fits our defense better and actually he is faster than reed. i still would prefer taylor maybe im crazy but as far as the future goes taylor will be a beast.

Re: Ed Reed To The Skins!
This thread is a great example of having a little too much time on your hands and suffering thru the offseason. Why don't we trade Jason Campbell to San Diego for Drew Brees and Portis to the Dolphins for Ricky Williams while we're at it because Ricky is a "Gibbs" style back (whatever that means). See...we can create all kinds of nonsense...hee hehhee.

Re: Ed Reed To The Skins!
Well that would be nice, but Baltimore would be crazy to do somthing like that. Ed Reed is the best defensive player in the NFL today, and might be the best player in the NFL. His postiion really brings down the argument for him, but he is an amazing athlete. While Sean Taylor has proven to be a quality player, he is nothing more than that AT THIS POINT. Taylor still has a long way to go before he is the difference maker that Ed Reed is right now.

Re: Ed Reed To The Skins!
STOP PLEASE STOP
Really we do sound like miami fans, even worse in my opinion cause that had some wild type of backing, our backing is that the Ravens have DEION so they can afford to miss out on a safty for a couple of weeks while TAYLOR is suspended and that the ravens are actually looking for felons to come to their team. Re: Ed Reed To The Skins!
WITH RESPECT TO YOUR PERSONAL OPINION, THAT WAS THE MOST INSANE IDEA THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD OF!
1. Sean Taylor has only been in the NFL one year and is better than most safeties in the league 2. There is no other safety in the league period that can go one on one w/ the likes of: Randy Moss, T. Owens, Chad Johnson, K. Johnson, etc. 3. There are not too many safeties that play the run as well as the pass as good as Taylor. 4. We must keep in mind that he was only a rookie last year and he will reach greatness once he puts aside some off the field problems. 5. Ed Reed has been in the league at least 3-4 yrs so he should play alot better and be more experienced, this year we will see an even better, stronger Sean Taylor. |
