The Late Great NFC East
Remember when this division was the toughest in the league? well those days are gone, when our team is 1-3 and we actually still have a shot at the playoffs, maybe the team that gets to five wins gets the division...strange times!

Re: The Late Great NFC East
Our division hasn’t been relevant for a long while. Even when the eagles won the SB (I still hate writing that), the rest of the division was cruddy. It’s been a long time since we had 2 much less 3 good teams in the division.

Re: The Late Great NFC East
Some years it's the NFC Beast, some years it's the NFC Least.
I don't understand this thinking of being proud about how tough the division is in a year when we're obviously not competing for division champs.

Re: The Late Great NFC East
The NFC East has sucked for 25 years. The younger generation of Washingtonians have been victims of bad football and home team irrelevance. Rivera has his work cut out for him.

Re: The Late Great NFC East
Not for nothing but we are the driving force behind the demise of the division. Eagles have been a respectable team for years and years. Cowboys alwAys underachieve but they are solid year in and year out - rarely a laughing stock. And the Giants won two superbowls during the demise. This division was king for the 80’s and early 90’s. Since than the WFT has bought down the curve almost every year.

Re: The Late Great NFC East
Three completely new coaching staffs might have a little to do with the down year.

Re: The Late Great NFC East
Yeah, this is a non-issue. You’ve got three new coaching staffs, that takes a while to gel. All the teams in the NFC East are HUGE MARKET teams. Even the WFT can win, either because the NFL owners throw Snyder out, or he is neutered enough to leave Rivera alone to do his job!

And injuries. The Eagles are decimated right now and Dak going down was huge.

The OP was talking about the division over the last 30 years - when it used to be the best in the league. Not just this year. The Redskins have been the weakest link over that duration was my point. |
