The way too early can we win the division thread
With Philly's loss today, the schedules look like 9-7 with tie breakers will win the division.
Philly has the Ram's left which likely gives them 7 losses. Dallas has NO and Indy which likely gives them 7 losses. The Giants would have to run the table to get to 9 wins That would mean we have to win 3 games to be in the mix at 9-7. The next 3 games are Dallas, Philly, NYG. Sweeping those three would be a dream scenario, but winning at Dallas alone would be huge giving us an effective extra game in the tie breaker scenario. We also have games against Tennessee and Jax, plus an extra one at Philly. Regardless of the qb situation, having 6 wins at this point and 2-0 in the divivsion sets us up very well to win the East. |

Re: The way too early can we win the division thread
I think we are a better team with Colt and getting some injured players back. They key is the D stopping the run, they have regressed the last 2-3 weeks. Need to start playing better on D.

Re: The way too early can we win the division thread
The D tried to back off against non-premium running backs to limit the other team's explosive abilities. For the rest of the season they need to go back to stopping the run first, and play on the back end. Does anyone know if Dunbar will be back?

Re: The way too early can we win the division thread
I mean they are fucking 5-5 and beat a 4-6 falcons team. Big deal. Yea they have a damn good defense but Dak sucks, if we can stop zeke again we should win. Also tyron Smith may not play Thursday and that would be a big blow

Re: The way too early can we win the division thread
I think we still have a good shot. Colt should not be a huge drop off in QB and in someways an upgrade. The key will be to limit turnovers especially those that give the other team good field position. Something Alex did really well until today.

Re: The way too early can we win the division thread
I believe That Colt’s completion percentage will be lower, but he’s gonna have bigger plays. The kid doesn’t mind taking chances. That may not always be a good thing, but it gives the receivers a chance to make a play.

Re: The way too early can we win the division thread
It's going to be a better pass offense but will he limit mistakes? That's the big QSent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Re: The way too early can we win the division thread
Colt will take shots and try to make plays. He will probably have more turnovers than Alex Smith, but more opportunities for bigger plays. In the end, I think if we lose games, it won't be because of Colt McCoy. It will be because of some horrible officiating, a dropped pass, or the defense allowing a big play. I think McCoy plays well for the rest of the season. This is all on the hope he stays healthy. McCoy doesn't like to slide, and he may take a few more sacks, so his health will be the big factor, not his skill. I think McCoy is more than good enough to lead a team into the playoffs, but he has to stay healthy.
