1st rd pick Jonathan Allen
I remember us doing a thread on each individual pick a few years back. I was thinking we could do it again this year. As picks come in feel free to start a thread on the player.
With that said WELCOME JOHNATHAN ALLEN to the WASHINGTON REDSKINS!! Jonathan Allen Draft Profile – NFL.com Jay Gruden never thought Jonathan Allen would be available

1st Round Draft Pick Jonathan Allen
From Keim:
Washington Redskins' 2017 draft picks: Analysis for every selection - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN Charlie Casserly great analysis here: CSN Exclusive: Go inside Jonathan Allen's draft prep with Charley Casserly | CSN Mid-Atlantic And Casserly reaction on twitter: Biggest steal of #NFLDraft Jonathan Allen #Redskins Better coming out of college than Ndamukong Suh & I like him better than Solomon Thomas From the Chris "the Mouth" Cooley twitter: The @Redskins just got insane value at 17 Allens injury issues are overrated. This is the best case scenario. Really! I'm pumped Probably the best pick of the draft in terms of value. James Andrew has cleared Allen of injury concerns.

17) Washington Redskins: DT Jonathan Allen, Alabama – Allen is the best true interior talent in the draft, and he fell for long-term concerns over his potentially arthritic shoulders. But even on a loaded Bama D, he stood out as a disruptor who has a little Geno Atkins in him. In a 3-4 scheme he’ll be asked to hold the point more, but you can’t hold Allen back. He’s smart, strong, instinctive and will be an asset to a defense that could use a little more juice up front. Grade: A

re: 1st rd pick Jonathan Allen
This quote from the Liz Clarke's WP article says it all,
"A draft class loaded with defensive talent instead saw a run on offensive players, with two quarterbacks and three wide receivers chosen among the top 10. The upshot proved a blessing for the Washington Redskins, who badly needed to shore up their defense and headed into the proceedings with a wish list designed to do just that." To our benefit, those teams reached for offensive players. |

I was messaging Daseal last night and we were both nervous as fuck when he kept slipping. We were like, "Aw shit, ____team____ is gonna' take him." When he fell to us, I'm like DO NOT FUCK THIS UP. TURN IN THE CARD AND DON'T BE TOO CUTE.

Being able to land Jonathan Allen has to be best thing that could happen in this draft.
Allen is it freaking animal. For those that have them watched his draft cut-ups you are in for a treat. The d-line just got a lot better in both run defense and pass defense. Now if we could land the true NT and a pass-rusher we will have a competitive front 7. |

We got a stud who fills a huge need. I felt like lighting up a cigar after that pick.

I am so freakin' excited about this pick! I cannot wait to see this guy in burgundy and gold! Also going to make Ryan Kerrigan look unstoppable as well.

re: 1st rd pick Jonathan Allen
Great Pick. I was stunned that there was such a run on offensive players in the first round that made Allen fall. Saw lots of mocks that had this guy as a top 10 talent.
I friggin hate that you guys got him. |
