Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread

Where to start? Kirk attending the "Ian Desmond school of playing yourself out of a long term contract" with your maddening inconsistency. Why was it so easy second half of last year? Why can't that carry over? Why so undecisive and easily rattled by pressure? How do you miss Church in the red zone like that? Btw that deep ball to Doctson is a td if you hit him in stride, but you underthrew him because you were clearly off point from overthrowing Djax early in the game.

Lichtensteiger, you '98 Altima with the worn out clutch, you. I need a word to describe the opposite of clutch, and that's what I got.

Breeland, iheartyou but your confidence is clearly low right now, so either he gets permanent over the top help until he's ready or he plays second fiddle and lets Norman line up wherever he wants. Either way, make the adjustment Joe Barry.

McC, i want to heart you as well but man our d-line is brutal. I realize it's luck when the player you want falls to you and is not only the BPA but fills a need, but the d-line was and still continues to be a weakness, much like Kory L. Yes I say this knowing how many injuries we have, but that still lies on the GM.

Deshaun Phillips, you and Breeland gotta do something because you welcomed the challenge of covering Cole Beasley yet everytime I see you you're making the tackle after giving up the catch. No bueno. Secondary was supposed to be a strength.

Matt Jones, you could be great someday, but I am still unimpressed. Maybe the playcalling needs to be better, maybe our line prefers the zone blocking scheme, but as many yards as you got today I still see a nonphysical guy who isn't much of a slasher either. Even if we keep him we could still afford an upgrade, I like Chris Thompson in a third down role but he's not much of a rush threat as he is a checkdown/blocking option on third down.

Playcalling, I'm looking at you Sean "only calls fades in the red zone" Mcvay. Come on man.

Bad play calling on 1st and goal, run the fucking ball. And why isn't our rookie RB not playing? They have to quit being pussies and see what
He
Can do.

Only got to watch the second half, but it was enough to show that NFL officiating is as bad as ever. Either that or Jerry spent a lot of cash.

It's no surprise like I said, skins do this to us all the time. Play calling in the red zone is horrendous, kirk is obvious with his reads, defense blows. Only Norman has shown up this yr in the secondary. No run game, no run def. We will be 6-10 at best

I actually thought defense showed some heart and we're going hard at a good Oline. Our front seven has its limitations, but I saw Trent Murphy, Kerrigan, Cravens and foster flying around. Hood and baker were playing with leverage too.

Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread

Offensive talent is there minus QB and C. How does the center already have 3 false starts in2 games, including causing a 10 second runoff today? Then the next play Cousins throws the hail mary out of the end zone. C'mon man. Those 2 plays perfectly sum up how they have both performed this year.

Cousins literally has no idea how to throw the ball down the field. He missed 2, underthrew 1, then also had the above hail mary. All not good throws.

Give Jones the damn ball 25 times next game. Give it a damn shot. Cousins doesn't need 40-50 pass attempts.

If we don't win next week, with this schedule, the season is over.

It was almost comical because someone in the game thread asked what new creative way we would find to blow the game. And that false start/runoff effectively ended the game. And that was a new one. Wouldn't have predicted it.

Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread

Plenty of blame to go around...

KC...nothing more needs to be said. It ain't good enough.

Gruden...I'd be in both your coordinators faces this week. They both need ass chewings. Nick Saban style.

McVay....KC is not Tom Brady. Let's try and have more balance. Awful calls with those fades.

Barry..if I were Gruden, I would have yanked the play sheet from him, taken his headphones, called him an Uber and told him his services are no longer wanted. No need to come for your things, we'll send your stuff in a box from Redskin Park.

Breeland. You look like a scared bitch. You look lost. Man up and quit playing soft.

SM...you seriously fucked up with the d-line.

Norman. I was wrong about you. You're worth the money. You play like a man out there. You play like you care.

C'mon Kirk, I really don't want to have to start researching college qbs after only the 3rd game of the season. Get it together.

Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread

It's pretty much the same story we've had for the past 20 years or so after a decent season. Expectations are high even though questions always remain on the talent of our team. This year is no different. Kirk Cousins is a good quarterback, but he has to be a quarterback who can play good for 16 games. Can't be a guy who takes 7 or 8 games each season before it starts to click with him. We, as fans, deserve better than that! Don't we? I like Kirk Cousins. I liked RGIII. But neither were/are franchise quarterbacks. I realize the sentiment is, "We just want to be consistently good!" Well, fuck that! I want a Super Bowl champion. I want a team other teams fear. I want a team that other fans get tired of watching, because we win all the time. You guys need to be fuckin' tired of being losers all the time. It hurts. Especially when your most hated rival beats you in your own stadium. I realize the cooler heads will post tomorrow and say all the right things, "14 more games left, it's a long season folks, anything can happen." It doesn't take a psychic to see this team is going to be a losing team this season. For fuck's sake, look at our schedule. Look at how easy the Cowboys were able to run on this team today. Look at how a rookie quarterback looked against our team today. Look at the crucial INT in the endzone Cousins had. Look at how unbalanced our offense is. The boneheaded mistake our center made that cost us a decent chance at winning the game.

Folks, we as fans deserve more than this. We have one life to live, and we've chosen to be Redskins fans. Our time on this earth is precious. Some of us might not have another 20 years to wait until this club gets its shit together. Do you want to spend it waiting for another NFC East championship? Because right now, that is the very best you are going to get. I believe in Scot McCloughan, but he's got to have total control if this team has any shot at turning itself around. There cannot be any regression. There cannot be any $75m cornerback playing only one side of the ball all the time. There can't be a quarterback under throwing and over throwing wide open receivers all the time. Can't be coaches not knowing how to call a balanced game and run the damn football. We've forgotten how it felt to have a winning team. Some of us here never have felt that before.

Anyway, we don't need to blow the team up. Scot has added some qualithy players and depth in positions. We just need someone who knows how to lead the team. We need, for once, to have all the missing pieces in place. It's not this year folks.

Re: Skins-Cowboys Post Game Thread

I think we know what we have in Cousins now. Not sure if you put in McCoy or put Sudfield in there to see if it can spark the offense.

Breeland is total garbage he needs to be cut.

Not going to win many games with our defense. May not win any. It is horrible. No justifiable reason to play Cousins at this point going forward. He can stay here if he wants to be a backup at a small salary.

Gruden is probably on the hot seat, and he should be. I think he gets canned if we start the season 0-4 or 0-5. Firing him in the season won't matter.

Lich...Seriously, they tried to replace him with Stork, then they cut his pay. No wonder he's playing like a " 98 Altima with a worn out clutch" ...LMAO.
