6 of 7 Draft Picks Signed, whose your star?

Upon hearing the news that 6 of our 7 draft picks have already signed, my first thought was that the NFL must've gotten a great deal in the last labor agreement, because the players don't even try to hold out.

After that momentary football politics thought. I started to wonder who everybody sees as the brightest point THIS year. Me personally I am hoping Cravens becomes our star this year. We have needed a hitter who could shut down opposing TE's and that's what I see him as. I think the case could be made for Doctson, but he will need to outplay Garcon to get star time this year. Fuller (who hasn't signed yet) has to get healthy. Of course a late round RB on a team with only one RB certainly has a chance to grind his way into the line up and shine.

So what are everyone else's thoughts: who will be this year's draft star? and for the negative nellies, who will be the one that disappoints and dulls SM's star?

Oh yea, Cravens.
I'm projecting this guy to put fear into anyone that enters the flat.

Keith Marshall.... I am not convinced Matt Jones is the answer at RB. And there are not many good options

I'm really excited to see if doctson gets the same opportunities that crowder did last year. Watch out if he does

Stephen Daniels--if he's the same player on the field at BC as he is during training camp I can't see why he can't compete for a starting ILB spot

I think Doc is the best player, but barring injury I think his contribution will be limited because of D-Jax and Garcon

Su'a-if they play him primarily as SS (which it looks like they will) he's gonna be beast

I'm Positive Pete about our RBs. Power guy in Jones, Fast guy in Marshall, change of pace/3rd down back in Thompson. I'm buying high on that committee.

Offense: Doctson
Defense: Cravens
Steal: Marshall

While I have confidence in Matt Jones, if Keith Marshall can gain his confidence in his knee again that he had at the beginning of his college career, he could be special

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

This is where I am, too. I envision Doctson getting mad red zone opportunities no matter what.

But I also take great comfort in knowing he's on the roster backing up Jackson in particular. Doctson wouldn't be the same burner threat, but Jackson is getting older and he's had his fair share of soft tissue injuries over the years.

Knock on wood. But you can go without DJax for a few games and just tweak the gameplan a bit to take advantage of Doctson's leaping ability. What was a bomb to DJax becomes a 50/50 ball to Doctson.

Re: 6 of 7 Draft Picks Signed, whose your star?

On the extremely optimistic side, I think we could have two stars come out of this class right out of the gate. You just know we are going to put Cravens in position to do what he does best, and if I enjoyed betting I'd put good money on either Garcon or D.Jax being out part of the season, which would give Doctson the opportunity to step up.

All of them, just like last year's class.

Re: 6 of 7 Draft Picks Signed, whose your star?

Doctson will emerge as a rising star this season and blossom into a Pro Bowl candidate next season.

Cravens can become a star this season if the DC is creative enough in how he is used. If Cravens is used aggressively, he will shine. If not, his talents will be wasted.

Everybody else? We'll see.

Looking forward to seeing all our picks, but the first 3 especially have a chance to make an immediate splash.

Yeah Fuller is intriguing too because he can go into the slot or stay outside. Just helps from the standpoint of versatility.
