Spanos doesn't want to go to Inglewood, wants Carson location. I suppose he could change his mind.

Re: Say hello to LA: Rams & Chargers on the move
Maybe edit the thread title? Either way I feel bad for the St. Louis fans, they deserve better. I still have my doubts that a franchise can succeed long term in the LA market, they've already had their chance and it didn't prove viable. Maybe this time around it will be different.

Does anyone know why the Rams only proposal wasn't approved by the owners?

Yeah that I was aware of wasn't sure if there was more to it.
Mooby, The move was 2 decades ago so a lot can change in that time. The Senators relocated twice but it looks like the Nats are here to stay, but as you said we shall see. |

Glad to see the Rams go...but lame to have 2 teams in LA. I'm hoping the Chargers get that deal with San Diego done. Chargers should stay

Chargers won't survive in LA, not with Spanos. They wouldn't even be the clippers of the nfl in that market.

Re: Say hello to LA: Rams & Chargers on the move
Well, weird day for me as a Redskins fan born & raised in LA. I'm 22 years old, the Rams moved out of LA when I was all of 1 year old. I came to the Redskins in '04 in a very unconventional way (long story), as many LA football fans do with their respective teams. I'm about 15 minutes from where the new stadium is going up - will definitely be pulling for them to succeed.
I agree with many in the thread, don't think the Chargers would do well here. If 2 LA teams happens it should be Rams / Raiders. Chargers seem to me to have the least support of the three teams amongst the people I know or come into contact with, and their fans are definitely the most fair-weather of the three fan bases. I'd like to see them stay in San Diego. I do, however, think the NFL can do well in LA now. The NFL is a different product than it was 20+ years ago. Popularity is at an all time high, as is the glamour of the game if you will. The name "LA Rams" is iconic, appeals to new & old fans, people want in.

Re: Say hello to LA: Rams & Chargers on the move
Kind of glad to see the Rams go back. I remember that 79 Super Bowl rooting for Vince Ferragamo and Wendall Tyler. They should have never left LA, just like the Cardinals should have never left St. Louis.
San Diego going to LA just sounds like the stupidest thing ever. Just confused how Spanos is thinking. |

This is great for West Coast Redskins fans.
To bad the Rams play in DC next year instead of LA. Chargers need to beg fans for forgiveness and stay. Paying half a billion to leave town and play redheaded step child in LA isn't going to be profitable in the long run. |

Re: Say hello to LA: Rams & Chargers on the move
Sorry for the multiple posts.
With the Rams getting a year head start in LA, aren't the majority of fans going to jump on their bandwagon? Is anyone going to want to cheer for the leftover football team, LA chargers? If Bolts are actually bolting for LA, they need to do it from the get go and compete with the Rams for fans. |

Also hope they make the retro blue & yellow jerseys permanent or update them just a little - their current jerseys are terrible.
