Kerrigan signs long term deal
SO happy to hear this, he is a great player on and off the field and a terrific actor (for those that have had the pleasure of seeing Sharknado 3 like I did last night)

Terms not disclosed via Redskins.com, we'll need Schefter or somebody to get their hands on that.

Congrats and well deserved. Glad to see the team do the right thing and get him locked up now.

Re: Kerrigan signs long term deal
5 years, $57.5M
$11.5M per year, $16M of it coming in form of signing bonus No word on total guaranteed money, which is the real important piece Redskins sign Ryan Kerrigan to 5-year extension - NFL.com

Re: Kerrigan signs long term deal
Wow, that seems kinda low, assuming the cap keeps going up. I was expecting 14 a year or so.

$14M would have put him in front of Clay, I don't think you can say he's had that kind of impact.

Re: Kerrigan signs long term deal
To me it feels like it's slotted appropriately. Not too high, not too low. Deserved market value.
I like that the contract doesn't take him past his 31st birthday, so we're committed to his prime years and nothing beyond. He's a very important player to keep and this keeps him at a fair price. Good stuff.

Re: Kerrigan signs long term deal
Good.
I mean, i rather keep all our players for $1 a year if it were possible, but at least we're paying a player that's been pretty good for us. |

Re: Kerrigan signs long term deal
Sounds like a good contract based on how others are being paid and the salary cap

Re: Kerrigan signs long term deal
Yeah it's a matter of durability and consistency. As a matter of principle you gotta give your big money to the guys who are available every week and who make a consistent impact for you. Orakpo tore too many pecs and was too up and down with his game. Kerrigan is a guy you can count on for sure.
