This is the first "visible" move by Scot McCloughan to bring in his guys. He drafted RJF back in the 49ers days. I love the contract. Not much guaranteed money, but plenty of incentive money. Francois is versatile, so he can play any position on that defensive line. Without knowing a lot about him, I think it's a decent pickup. If anything, it's the start of depth building.

Good signing...I think this guy is a nice complement in the way Chris Baker is...a solid rotational guy who is outstanding against the run. Hopefully we get rid of Bowen, Golston and dont resign Jenkins.

Cofield needs to take a paycut as well.

San Fran and Seattle wanted to visit with him as well which puts his value in respect to the rest of the league.

So much for laying low, we were pretty quick to jump on this guy and make a competitive offer.

It's interesting that Both San Fran and Seattle, both places where McCloughan has been at, was interested in RJF. They all seem to agree with McCloughan on talent evaluation - which means I'm looking forward to Scot's progressions the next couple of seasons.

I think this is a significant move, because it continues to show that Scot McC has total control of shaping the roster.

I know I'm in a tiny minority, but I believe the move to start RG3 was influenced by McC.

Anyway, I think our free agency moves will be similar to this and I look forward to see what McC comes up with in the draft. Though I know that in this particular draft, he'll be depending on scouting info on guys he didn't hire.

Not much to hate about this move. Solid player at a fair price. Both lines need work so it's a good start.

I hope not. McC is the GM, not the coach, and who starts at QB should be a coach-alone decision.

I don't think he's any better or worse than what we currently have along the D-line. But to me this is the kind of signing we should be doing right now.

Admirably succinct and accurate summary. Agreed.

When Ahmad Brooks gets cut by the 49ers (soon) he will probably also join the Redskins.

Well Bruce's record should be when he was alone too. 4-12; MS was his co-pilot for the first several years.

Maybe you should find something more interesting to put in your sig if it is not straightforward and you have to explain yourself over and over. As mredskins said, BA ran the team with MS until last year.
