JG or GM?
Would you give up Gibbs to have a proven GM and not so proven Head Coach?

Re: JG or GM?
No. Gibbs brings so much more to the table than a knowledge of talent.

Re: JG or GM?
No way. Gotta stick with Gibbs...he knows talent. Besides Brunell, his track record so far is pretty damn good! So I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if I don't agree with something they do.
Also, people always talk about "needing a GM", but sorry, these guys don't grow on trees and it is just as hard to find good ones as it is with head coaches....usually, the good, proven ones are taken. |

Re: JG or GM?
I don't buy into the "we need a GM" theory. For one thing I don't even know what people mean by that. I think some would just be happy to have someone with that official title.
However, it's constantly brought up here that we need a GM, and like I said in another thread I don't think Gibbs would be here if he wasn't the final decision maker on football decisions (somewhere in the distance, a curmudgeon speaks of Snyder-Coles-and big screen TVs). So I was just curious if anyone would say they'd give Gibbs up for say Terry Robiskie and Charley Casserly

Re: JG or GM?
Not a chance you give up on Gibbs. Now if he wanted to bring in a GM, I wouldn't be opposed to that, but hell, I dont even care if he has 5 losing seasons here before he hangs it up.... He came back and put his heart into our team and thats all we can ask as fans from anyone. And if anyone's heart is in the right place when it comes to our team... its Joe Gibbs. I think we're in good hands.

Re: JG or GM?
It seems to me the people who DO bring it up, normally just bring it up because someone a LOOONG time ago said it and they thought it's a good idea even though they probably don't even know what a GM DOES.

So who voted "No"? Why don't you come out and say why you voted No?

Re: JG or GM?
Oh my goodness, it's blasphemy to even ask that question. I wouldn't mind another Bobby Beathard heading up the talent search, but I'd like Gibbs to have final say. And there's no coach in NFL history I'd rather have. Including Vince Lombardi, that's how much I think of Joe.

Why bother with this type of speculation?

Re: JG or GM?
This one is easy. You have to want Joe Gibbs.
You cannot want a proven genius at GM and "Whoever" as the HC. Think about "Whoever" in terms of: Richie Kotite Ray Handley Dave Campo Wayne Fontes Rich Brooks ...and the list goes on...
