No vote from me: Well, they needed a CB (at Rogers might be the best of the 3), but I think that Offense was a more pressing need. Hopefully at 25

WILLIAMS WAS THERE!!! merriman would have also been a better pick at 9... so no, i think we were in position to really make a big step in improving the team and we blew it.

Re: Do you approve of the Carlos Rogers pick?

Quality depth was more of a pressing need at cornerback than at wideout. Rogers solidifies a position for the Skins that was woefully weak below the top 2 corners, Springs and Harris. Even Harris is a bit of a question mark.

On the other hand, the Skins can still get an outstanding receiver at #25, and receiver (while still a weakspot) is not as much of a pressing need as corner. If they had taken Williams at #9, they would've picked up an excellent offensive weapon, but they wouldn't have been able to get near the caliber of cornerback at #25 as they did with Rogers at #9.

Good pick in my opinion, though it would've been great to have Williams at wideout. I'm just glad they didn't blow the draft by trading up to get Edwards.

Re: Do you approve of the Carlos Rogers pick?

the skins made the right pick. the offense will be leaps and bounds better because of the off season additions and for the simple fact that ramsey is the starter. the defense , on the other hand, lost some key players , manely fred smoot . the defense kept the skins in games last year , despite the lack of offense , the skins had to do what was necassary to get the defense back in good shape. carlos rogers was the best cb in the draft , the skins had no choice but to draft him.

the skins can still get a good wr at # 25 but the good cbs would have been gone by # 25.

Good pick. They filled their biggest need. IMO, Harris would have been fine for this year (if he is healthy), but both him and Springs are getting up there in age....needed some high quality young blood at the position.
Williams would've been nice, but as others have said, I think we are fine going with the WR's we have and giving them a chance to step up.

williams is the type of player you pick within 2 minutes of being up to bat, even if you have two wideout studs already (ie, detroit).

Re: Do you approve of the Carlos Rogers pick?

I approve. Some may have had him rated the 3rd best CB in the draft, but is it all that different from having Roethlisberger rated third last year behind Manning and Rivers? This difference is so minimal

And I know we talk about Williams being able to plug anyone into his defense, but really we didn't see him have to do that with his CBs. With all the backups at LB, D-line, and Safety, the one thing that remained constant was the starting CBs-Springs and Smoot each missed only game last year-so maybe the key to Williams' D is to have solid starting CBs

On a side note, I met acclaimed Warpath member Redskins_P yesterday. Very cool to meet a fellow fanatic
