Redskins Front Office Have Rabbit Ears?

As a Redskins fan, I was glad to have Gibbs, Vinny and Dan come out and try to clarify some of the rumors and misrepresentations of the media, but as an NFL fan I would be sitting back saying, why 3 days before the draft is the Redskins "brass" taking an hour out of prep time addressing rumors? There are rumors in every NFL city, but I don't see any other teams out there trying to clear up what may or may not be going on..

I would almost like a Belichek type parinoia of the media and Gibbs be one voice for the organization. That would shut up the Pastabellys and some of the clowns at the Post if their information sources were shut off.

I think Cerrato's statements lately have been purposely contradicting Gibbs' lately. I think the three of them (Snyder Gibbs Cerrato) are trying to be as confusing as possible. They don't want to let anyone get a bead on their true plans for this draft. Intentional smokescreens.

This was my thought... The things coming from Vinnie's mouth are so asinine that there is no way Gibbs could possibly be putting up with it unless it is contrived. Maybe they are just having fun leading the media around by its nose. Or belly in Pastabelly's case.

Not Rabbit ears!

Sensitive skin!

Everyone in the FO is on the same page, reading the same lines, but it all comes out different everytime!

Then, they get utterly sensitive about how it shakes out in the press!

The Press is all good! That is what makes our beloved B&G the most valuable Sports franchise in the entire World!

In other NFL towns and NFL teams the rumors aren't frontpage NFL news MSN and Fox Sports websites. There's a difference between message board and blog chatter and campaigns to start nasty rumor mills.

Is it just me or does it seem the media has an axe to grind with Vinny C?

King, obviously you have never lived in Pittsburgh because they are just as nuts about the Steelers and rumors as the skins fans & media are.

This organization is in total disarray. They are spinning their wheels and it seems like they will never get traction. The front office cant make up its mind and the players (Portis, LA, Taylor, etc) seems uninterested, at best, or just plain idiots, at worst. It gets harder and harder to be a fan of this team. Hopefully this trend will turn around by August but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I wouldn't go so far as to say total disarray. 99% of all players are participating in the offseason workouts. The problem is, the headlines don't say, "Offseason Workouts Going Great for Skins". Typically most news is bad news. I would definitely agree with what Gibbs has said in saying that we are on the lower end of teams with personnel problems. It's all about taking what the media says with a grain of salt until we hear the facts (or semblance of).

Re: Redskins Front Office Have Rabbit Ears?

they may be on the same page, but they are being portrayed like total idiots...it amazes me that they would waste time having all these press conferences and news releases, when there are more mounting issues at hand, ie the draft.

they certainly do not have to defend themselves to Peter King, Pastabelly, La Canfora, Wise, and Demasio...if they are solid in what they are doing, they would have no reason to come out every day this week and make a comment.

so, this leads me to believe they have the "deer in the headlights" look, and Plans A, B, C, D and Final have been flushed...

I agree, the FO is wasting time!

I'm not sure about the "deer in headlights" look, nor have I heard any flushing sounds emanating from Redskins Park.

One or three disgruntled players do not a team make!

And, it is not July, or September yet! The season is still not quite here!

When those 3 disgruntled players are 3 of the best on the team they can have a huge negative effect. Anything can happen in todays NFL but it seems more & more like the redskins are closer to being AZ or Cinn than NE or Philly. It makes me want to barf when I say that.

Did I miss something? I did not know Portis was a digruntled player. All teams have disgruntled players and they are usualy the top players because the middle to lower echelon players do not have the leverage knowing that they can be replaced. We have to remember that this is the week before the draft and teams say and do weard things not to show their cards. We can only wait and see how this pans out befor jumping to any conclusions. I know if we didn't jump to any conclusions we would have little to talk about.LOL

I assume he was referring to Moss, Arrington and Taylor.

Re: Redskins Front Office Have Rabbit Ears?

Disgruntled is likely not the correct adjective to describle CP, maybe 'hardly interested' or 'idiot' would fit better. He is in the sports page today talking about how rough its been for ST this past season ans he needs a break from football. A break from football?! ST has been on break since Jan 3 because the team didnt make the playoffs. If anything he needs to get back to Ashburn and get into football. CP was also quoted as telling ST these worlouts are a waste of time and nothing is going on. Some team leader. He should have told ST to get up here so we can work together and win a championship.

Re: Redskins Front Office Have Rabbit Ears?

But are Taylor and Moss really missing anything? You know, all they're doing is lifting weights. It's not like they're out there conducting practices. The offseason program is strength training and agility training. They're not allowed to get out and have organized football practices.

Gibbs just wants the players there for team unity, which I can understand. But as long as the guys are working out, can't they get the team unity when they report to training camp? I'd start getting worried if they missed training camp, but not these workouts. It's no big deal.

The only thing is that it would be nice if Moss and Ramsey would get together on their own, like Harrison and Manning do in the offseason, to really really get in synch.

Re: Redskins Front Office Have Rabbit Ears?

Exactly. I'd prefer if they were there, but at least they are working out. Does that mean I'd want ANOTHER Miami product next season? I'll pass. BUT, we definitely don't have as much controversy as other teams. It's just THIS is the controversy we care about.
