Possible Trade
According to Pro Football Weekly's mock draft:
9. Washington Redskins — CB Carlos Rogers, Auburn A trade is said to be in the works that could go down in the next few days and affect the Redskins’ draft needs. The Redskins prefer established veterans over rookies. Rogers’ size, speed and experience could make him the first defender drafted. Anybody got a guess as to: a) The truth of the PFW's trade rumour? b) Who/What the trade might be if it is to affect our first round draft position? Here is PFW's complete mock: http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW...mock040805.htm BTW: The PFW mock is screwy (to be polite) they Carlos Rogers drafted ahead of Rolle, Jones, and D. Johnson. |

Re: Possible Trade
If we r still at #9 and taking Rodgers, I'm guessing we've taken care of either wr or mlb because those r the only other real positions in question right now. possibly de. and the only vet cb that I know of out there for trade is Surtain and he's kinda pricey if I recall and I have absolutely no idea who it might be if its another wr or a mlb.

Re: Possible Trade
Why are we drafting Rogers at the 9 spot? The NFL network was reporting a couple of day's ago that Rolle may be the first defender off the board, if we take Rogers I hope we trade down some to do it.
I wonder if there's a trade for Mista mini camp Moss? |

Re: Possible Trade
How about that D-Lineman from the Saints, is Howard his name? is that might be something they would want to do?

Re: Possible Trade
or yet another deal with the jets for abraham? any deal that is supposedly in the mix can't be including someone too expensive and thats gonna be the case with practically anyone who'd actually help at our weakest spots.

Re: Possible Trade
i interpreted it like someone might be trading up in the draft ahead of us that would affect our draft by taking a player we coveted, but i may be wrong

Re: Possible Trade
Keep in mind that we can't make any moves where we take on big salary. We currently have a bit less than $2 million in cap room, so if a guy has a bigger cap number than that it won't work. This eliminates guys like Patrick Surtain, Charles Woodson, John Abraham, and Darren Howard. I don't think PFW has it right on this one.

Re: Possible Trade
I still believe that Rolle is the best CB out there, he is the one CB who can come up to the line of scrimmage and man handle recievers and that's what Williams wants in a CB, another reason why I believe Smoot was allowed to leave he was more of a cushion CB, Rolles style will parellel Ty Laws under Williams. We then could do some dealing and see if we can get into the second round for a WR, V. Jackson! Although I really like Chris Spencer center out of Mississippi, I know we signed a center but this kid is the goods he would make a great backup early on at either guard or center, and add much needed depth at those positions.

Re: Possible Trade
I completely agree about Rolle. I think he is best overall out of the CBs available. Pac Man might have the speed, but Rolle more than makes up for it by being extremely physical with receivers.

Re: Possible Trade
If PFW has Rodgers going before Antrel Rolle and Derrick Johnson, I have to totally disregard them.
