Redskins vs Broncos Pre Game Thread

Figured nobody is really talking about the Chicago game anymore so lets get a jump start on Denver.

Line should be them favored by about 8.

Anyone giving us a chance or will this be a blowout waiting to happen??

I think it's a close game IMO.

Joe redskin was pointing out Denver's run d, But teams will pass more on them because
A. they have to score a bunch to win
B. Denver's secondary is as bad as ours

Re: Redskins vs Broncos Pre Game Thread

I'd be a little surprised if we can keep it close. Our defense was bad before, now with the injuries and suspension how can it be any better?
Manning could easily put up 400 yards passing on us.

At this stage in their careers I think Holiday is at least as good as Hester or better. We might get lucky with the Denver air and Kai can kick the ball out of the endzone. As far as punts go,they should have had Rocca practicing kicking the ball out of bounds,I dont care if it shortens his kicks by 10-15 yards, its obvious we cant tackle anybody

Only way we have a chance is if somehow we win the turnover battle.
The only position we have advantage over them is rb.
I think their defense is better than ours
Special teams they are way better than us

My prediction
Broncos 52
Skins 28-35

take a page out of the old school skins...run, run, run, and then run some more. control the clock, and keep manning on the side line. if shanahan jr. doesnt try to win a shoot out, i can see us winning

I don't think we'll win, but I think we don't get blown out.

Broncos - 38
Redskins - 27

Re: Redskins vs Broncos Pre Game Thread

We can beat them.

Our best defense will be a good offense. Mr. Hankey will have to cure his dropsies for one game and Moss should make a special guest appearance. But we have the firepower to outscore them.

On defense, we won't stop Peyton but we can slow him down. We can do what the Colts primarily did - get good edge pressure from a 4 man rush and play as solid as possible man-to-man in the secondary. Hopefully Rak and Kerrigan will bring their A games.

Skins 41
Ponies 38

I don't know about that strategy. The Broncos have a hell of a rushing defense; sure, the numbers are skewed because teams are always playing catch-up, but the Denver line is impressive and the backs are coached-up well. Trying to control the clock by running can lead to a lot of 3rd and longs, which in turn lead to a lot of three-and-outs as well as INTs.

Regardless, the problem will very likely solve itself. If the defense allows to quick TDs in the first quarter (which it probably will) we can forget the run game.

Denver 52
Redskins 24

They'll be pissed off and throwing all over our depleted secondary. Von Miller will own Polumbus all day.

Re: Redskins vs Broncos Pre Game Thread

I predict that after a slow start with Denver leading 10-0 going into the second quarter, we'll turn on the jets and run up 35 points in the second, score one final TD in garbage time, and we'll beat them Broncs 42-10.

Ahhhh.....1987 was a good year!

8? My Sportsbook (for entertainment purposes only) has them favored by 13.

I don't think we can hang with them...but they're not immortal either. Its not like the 07 Pats game where they were complete all around, the Broncos defense is pretty bad...

That said, our secondary is kind of a mess behind Hall; and I think they'll win... but I could see us hanging around for a while. Who knows, if our offense can put up 45 points again (and the Bears D is better than Denver), maybe we pull off an upset.

I agree I don't expect a W in Denver but I won't be upset if we lose so it's kind of a win win lol

Polumbus was all sorts of bad during that Bears and Cowboys game. I can't believe Pashos nor Trueblood weren't an upgrade over him. They must have been downright terrible.

There are high school players that are better than him. Jesus, he stinks.

Chris Chester hasn't done a great job this year either. He was solid last year. Never got his name called. Hopefully he'll either get back into gear or maybe this season is just a rough one for him.

If we can hang with them in a our team has confidence sort of way, I'll be pleased. I know its a losers mentality, but also as a fan just trying to be realistic.

If we're gonna go on any type of a run, it will come right after.

SD, @MIN, @PHI, SF, NYG, KC, @ATL, DAL, @ NYG.

Really outside of SF, I don't see any of those being slam dunk losses (not sold on KC).. and with the division the way it is, who knows...
