Skins vs Eagles week 1

Despite injury and little practice, Redskins’ Robert Griffin III determined to be even better - The Washington Post

Let's talk about the matchup, predictions, etc. right here.

Hard to believe we're 6 days away now.

Redskins practice notes: Meriweather sits - NFC East Blog - ESPN

The Redskins named their captains Monday, with two each on offense and defense. The offensive captains: quarterback Robert Griffin III and left tackle Trent Williams. The defensive captains: linebacker London Fletcher and nose tackle Barry Cofield. Also, they named Doughty as the special teams captain Monday. After eight games, they will add a third captain to both the offense and defense and will name a permanent special teams captain.

Redskins 45- eagles 17

Eagles and skins score fast early, redskins make the necessary adjustments. Eagles can't stop Alfred Morris who runs for 146 yards and 2 TDs. Jordan Reed, Fred Davis, Morgan and Garçon also see the endzone.

Defense gets to Vick 3 times. Hall gets a pick. Rambo gets picked on early. Hopefully adjusts come later in the game.

Skins 31
Eagles 10

I expect several Eagles to experience "welcome to the NFL" moments.

Re: Skins vs Eagles week 1

Up until now, I haven't considered the eagle game to be a big test. I'm starting to buy into that Chip Kelly's direction will open up the eagles offense more in comparison to AReid.
Even if it was preseason, Philly led the league in up tempo plays per game and was 3rd in yardage.
Lacking Merriweather doesnt help improve the secondary even if Rak is back.
The eagles have a formidable OL which hopefully doesnt neutralize our rush.
I think reed and a rookie in Rambo starting may be difficult if we don't get a cushiony amount of points early.
I think the plus side for us aside from home field is that Phillys defense is transitioning and returning only 6 starters. I don't see many teams able to shut down the skins rushing at FedEx. And if we get rolling and eating clock, what good is an eagle up tempo offense at the detriment of their tired defense?
I think we figure it out by the half and take away their passing game. Plus the skins are way more solid of a team, and are better on both sides of the ball. Idk if its nervousness of not knowing Chip Kelly or our secondary woes, but I'm feeling a close game perhaps skins 25 eagles 20

Redskins 35 Eagles 17

I do think Griffin will be a bit rusty coming out the gate, which means the game will be close in the first half. But I see him settling down in the second half and the 'skins pulling away.

Redskins 31
Eagles 20

This one will be close all the way through. If we can contain McCoy and make Vick beat us then this one gets ugly pretty fast. Defense will have to play well in this one for us to grab a W. I still have nightmares of that ass whooping Vick gave us two years ago!

I'm soooooo excited this week is finally here. I'm hoping the Skins take a gigantic dump on the Sheagles. I'm unleashing the dragon Rex style on this.

Redskins - 34

Eagles- 17

Re: Skins vs Eagles week 1

I love the Redskin's scores you guys are posting. I remember the days when the Skins could not score 20 points a game. I think their ability to score 30 in any given game, helps them soooo much more now. Even if the Skins have some trouble on Defense, most teams can't score 30 and our team can.

Redskins 31
Eagles 20

I think Griffin runs some early just to scare the bejesus out of the whole NFL and especially the Eagles early.

Pat White could lead the team to 10 points in a quarter worth of work.
