2013 NBA Offseason/Draft

So the NBA draft is on tonight.

Cavs have the number 1 pick, Orlando have number 2 and the Wiz pick 3rd. Lots of people think either Noel or Len goes 1 and either Maclemore or Oladipo goes 2 leaving the Wiz to pick either Otto Porter or Anthony Bennett.

Thoughts?

I'd go with Bennett over Porter since Bennett has always produced. Porter would disappear come tournament time (Big East and NCAA)

Between Bennett and Porter I'm torn. I think Bennett could be very boom or bust. Porter is the "safer" of the two but what's his upside.

As recently as Tuesday I heard a pretty high ranking Wizards official say the goal was to trade the pick. Not sure if that's still the case, or still an option.

I kind of liked the Deng rumor, but only if we could lock him in long term

Deng??? Uggg no. This is a draft of pieces. I don't think there a single sure difference maker in the class. Porter is a safe pick. Ernie needs a safe pick. He's a terrible drafter. Take Porter.

Wonder if Bosh gets traded for a guy like Nerlens Noel or Alex Len?

He's gonna wanna get paid and I dont think he is a good value. I dont think he's a difference maker. I think you look at Chicago and outside of Rose, the biggest difference maker is Noah. Deng is gonna want to get paid like the 1st or 2nd best player on the team. Some nights he's the 4th/5th option on the bulls. And do you see Deng wanting to be in Washington. I think he would be 1 and done.

I see Potter being just as effective. I think he can develop into a better player. I agree with your assumption of Bennett.

Best case scenario tonight is either trade for an Aldridge type impact player or draft Potter and then Jeff Withey slides to us as a back up defensive Center in the 2nd.

Wow, Bennett first pick. Cavs throwing the curve ball two drafts in a row.

I wanted Porter, but I'd take Noel now that he's available. Will be happy with either.

So much for all those kids projecting Nerlens Noel going 1st.

Need the Hornets/Bobcats to pick up McLemore. They need a scorer bad.

Cody Zeller? Are you kidding me? Michael Jordan absolutely blows as a GM/Owner.
