#28 Green as player/coach!!!
With Smoot gone is this a possibilty?
I would like to see, if nothing less, we pay Darrell Green a few million dollars. Otherwise I think he could still produce as a CB. Would you come back Darrell??? What you guys think?

Dont let the coffee go to your head; he wont play anymore. I wouldnt want him as a player, I would hate too see him ruin his legacy. Sure he is still fast, but he wouldnt be in playing condition anymore.
As a coach, if he came back i'd welcome him. We gotta stop living in the past though; sucks we lost smoot.

Not gonna happen. He could probably still play, but I'm not sure how productive he could be anymore.

Green is not a player anymore. As much as I'd love to see Green suit up for a game, I could not bare to watch him get burned by todays super speedsters.

He probably could play one game, but that's about it. He spent more money on ice for his knees than I've made in my life.

Boo. Imagine Darrell Green having the same kind of season that Jerry Rice just had. That kind of thing is a crying shame in my opinion.
I'm very happy with the many memories that Darrell gave me over his 20 years as a Redskin. He doesn't need to create new memories. |

No question, D. Green can still play. But we're not that desperate to beg him out of retirement.

Re: #28 Green as player/coach!!!
He said as a player or coach in the thread title. If they want Green to come back and work as an assistant then fine, im sure he could work as a db coach. But definitly not as a player

As been stated already, no way as a player, yes as a coach.

Re: #28 Green as player/coach!!!
Yeah I don't see him as much of a player anymore. I mean, 3 years ago he got beat out by a rookie Smoot and was relegated to nickel.
I'd rather not get Darrell in here only to play nickel, consequently taking playing time away from a young guy like Wilds who may actually develop into something. |

Re: #28 Green as player/coach!!!
I would love to see Darrell Green as an assistant coach, but Darrell is 45 and too old to play a demanding position like CB anymore........
