Re: Sporting News 2012 NFL awards: Robert Griffin III, Rookie of the Year
I'm not surprised about this. RGIII was clearly the most impactful rookie this season. I am surprised that Luck got twice as many votes as Wilson, though. There is no sound basis for voting for Luck. Statistically, he wasnt that good. He threw for alot of yards, but that was only because the Colts were trailing so often in the 2nd half due to Lucks ineffectiveness and turnovers in the first half. IMO, RGIII and Wilson are the only two viable ROY candidates.
And how on earth did 57 people vote for martin? On a sidenote, this article should finally shut up all the idiots who criticized Shanahan's handling of RGIII during the Seahawks game. Its a thorough piece with alot of information not previously published. Nothing earth-shattering, but completely vindicates Shanahan, in my opinion. Robert Griffin III knee injury: What really led to it during the Redskins-Seahawks game? - The Washington Post BTW, love this quote from RGIII after the Seattle loss (from the Sporting News article) Quote:

With this new young crop of QB's- RGIII, Kaepernick, Dalton, Cam, Luck, Wilson- the league is set up nicely for years to come with really exciting QB play.
Congrats to RGIII on the award. Obviously well deserved.

Please go, Osi.
His trophy case is going to be full after just one year. Next up, a Lombardi.
