Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
baltimore, san diego , and houston have made there intrest known
baltimore is in need of more wr's. houston needs a solid #2 next to johnson. and marty was the one that drafted gardner and liked him from the start, and now head coach of SD has a chance to get him back and may do it. |

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
my guess is that there wont be much interest in trading for a wr while there are still receivers in free agency. My guess is this will be a draft day deal.
Did the Skins say they would cut him if he doesnt get traded?

His contract is very reasonable this year so I doubt it but you never know, personally if it was me and i couldn't bring back so much as a bag of ball's for the guy I would cut him, he's part of what we are trying to get away from as an organazation. |

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
nah. i would at least trade him for a draft pick. he may be worthless to us, but there is value in him amongst other teams. i would love to see him go and have either patten and coles, or patten and moss, if the deal goes through, as our starting wideouts next year.

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
Houston is an interesting destination for him across from Andre Johnson, who is going to be a big time WR very soon.

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
you won't see a 2nd. MAYBE a 3rd.
I want Jacobs to get into the starting lineup. I think he can. Patten isn't a starter type of guy, but if he goes to church with Joe Gibbs he knows he'll start for at least 8 weeks. |

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
damn that would suck. gardner was a first round pick. i would at least think we would get maybe a second round. maybe marty schottenheimer would give us a second round pick for him. im not sure about anyone else.

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
My ideal situation would be to use Gardner in a trade-up situation with the Buccaneers to guarantee that we get one of the two big WRs in the draft. As neat as it is having all receivers under 6 feet, I think it might be a bit nice to have someone kinda big. We need someone to fill that Art Monk type role. Mike Williams, as has been mentioned ad nauseum already, is the perfect fit for that.

Just cuz he was a first round pick, doesnt mean he wasnt a bust, and if we get a third for him, I will be impressed. I think a fourth is the best we can get, and most likely will settle for anything. Get the cancer outta here. |

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
yeah if we could trade gardner and our first round pick to the bucs for their first round pick i'd say that's a good trade. yeah i know im too hopeful that we would get a second round pick, but i would be okay with a third or fourth round pick.

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
I love how everybody thinks that because we draft some guy in the first round then we should get a first round pick in exchange. The guy can't catch!! We'll be lucky to get a mid round pick for him. Nobody in their right mind is going to trade a first or even a second with the receivers (though not spectacular) that are available especially for a guy, who once again, can't catch!

Re: Don't see much interest for Rod Gardner
i didn't say i wanted a first round pick for him. i would like to see a second round pick at the most. i know thats asking for alot. i would just want something higher than a fourth round pick for him.
