No John Wall for another month.

I'd like to see the Wizards do well, I miss the early 2000's where we were a playoff contender.

I think they are trying to build for the future but I still keep feeling like this isn't the year either.

It's going to be a long month until John is back, and hopefully Nene is back by then too. Seeing Houston get Harden was hard to swallow. Iwas really hoping we would make a move for him before the draft, but it's not like we had a ton to offer other than our pick.

I keep praying the owner is having secret meetings with a really good GM and possibly the next HC so they can fire the two we got now.

Why can't the Wizards owner offer Phil Jackson whatever he wants to get him here and to start turning this team around? Give him either a 1 or 2 yr contract and have him develope a successor to take over after his contract is up.

Why, oh why, was Ernie Grunfeld extended? Does Ted really believe the "We're headed in the right direction" mantra with this man at the helm?

Still waiting to see Wall and Beal in the back court together... wouldn't mind seeing Nerlens Noel in a Wiz uni, next season.

Re: 2012-2013 Washington Wizards Thread

Yeah, the only reason I want to watch the Wiz this season is to see how Wall and Beal mesh together.

S/N it's funny thinking about how I don't agree with Leonsis' team building method of building through the draft and being "thrifty" in free agency, and yet I would love it for the Redskins to do that. And Snyder's old ways of free spending would help a team like the 'Zards. They need a talent infusion, and the draft just isn't cutting it.

I didn't get the reasoning for keeping the GM either. But I also don't see why its so hard to pick up decent players and or develop decent players in basketball. I see it just like football, similar number of teams, and similar number of colleges. Yet the radio announcer will make excuses for our GM by saying about only one player pans out every year out of the whole draft.

exactly. Basketball is is vastly different than building hockey, football and baseball teams. smaller team and 1 player makes a huge difference. In the draft there are usually only like 5 players that are those difference makers...most are just role players and pieces. Shake my head at Grunefield and Ted been a huge disappointment as an owner. Look at that trade to get Harden. When you can get a young star like that you gotta take a chance.
