Rice released

Jerry Rice was released by the Seahawks today but sayd he wants to play at least another year. With our problems at WR what are your thoughts on maybe bringing him in for a year. I was thinking if we can get him for the vet. minimum he might not be bad to bring in for a year until we can get another big time guy or even to help develop a rookie.

Re: Rice released

Please retire. Nothing worse than watching a former great player become an embarresment.

Re: Rice released

Retire, and take back some yards so mitchell ends up with the most all purpose yards.

Re: Rice released

In an interview earlier this year, he seemed to think he'd re-up with the Niners for a farewell year.

Re: Rice released

PORTIS throws it on a trick play to have a better QB rating than Brunell last year. LOL

Re: Rice released

I'd take Rice as a player - he's not your deep threat, but get the ball near him and it's a catch. I'd pay him not much more than league minimum though.
