Warpath Scouts The Rams

So a thought occurred to me. I wanted to find info about the Rams and am looking around the internet to find out more about them b/c I just don't know them as well as, say, the Skins. I am looking for more than the standard talking heads say about the team. Stuff from beat writers, possibly blogs - do they have a Gtripp or SligginSammy who breaks down their play?

I thought more than one or two of you might be interested in the same thing and would like to invite folks to share info they find out about their players and the "inside scoop" as it were.

We have basked in the beauty that was RGIII in NO. I would now like to learn more about his next victim.

I invite you to post information that helps us better understand the Rams and helps folks have a better understanding about them when watching the game. I realize this may overlap with the prediction thread and really am not intending it to do so. I was hoping we could harness the power of the Warpath to gather info on the next opponent and then use that in folks analysis in the prediction thread.

Re: Warpath Scouts The Rams

Here is a tidbit about Bradford from last week's game:

Quote:
Sunday in Detroit, Bradford completed 68 percent of his throws and posted a passer rating of 105.1. Operating behind a line that lost two starters, he led the Rams to two go-ahead scores in the fourth quarter. With the game's outcome on the line, Bradford completed seven of nine passes for 104 yards and a touchdown for a fourth-quarter passer rating of 153.1. According to Pro Football Focus, Bradford was under pressure on 30 percent of his drop-backs to pass, but still had an accuracy rating of 66.7 percent.

Bradford missed some throws early, and the Rams can't afford to have him misfire when there's a chance to strike for a big play. Bradford wasn't always alert in sensing the pass rush. He still locks onto his primary receiver too often. He needs to get into a quicker rhythm and deliver the football without hesitation. Bradford still has plenty of work to do, and he will be held accountable.

I thought Bradford grew in the performance at Detroit. It's a good sign when a quarterback can overcome some early mistakes, a stuffed running game and a bogged-down offense to make his best plays in the fourth quarter when the game is up for grabs.

Bernie: Giving up on Bradford would have been wrong move : Stltoday

The article gives a general ood break down of their recent history. Nothing earth shaking but interesting nonetheless.

Re: Warpath Scouts The Rams

I do expect Bradford to have that year they've been waiting for. It's a do-or-die year for him but they've added some quality WRs that he never had before. Unfortunately, he may get killed behind the worst offensive line in football and may never reach his full potential while playing for the Rams.

Another thing, Rodger Saffold was carted off on a headboard last week and hospitalized with lost sensation in his arms and legs after a neck/spine injury.

The NFL, who is preaching player safety for head injuries and won't let a player with a bump on his head come back without jumping through hoops...has allowed Saffold to practice this week after his flirt with paralysis. Nice.

Good for us...we're either be facing their backup LT or one who may not be able to feel his arms.

By the way, Joe...much better title choice than the route we went last season.

"It's F@(%ing Rams Week!" doesn't sound good.

Re: Warpath Scouts The Rams

The Rams looked very balanced last week when you look at pass/run ratios. Of course they were never really playing from behind or ahead to the point that they got taken out of their game plan. With beatup O-Line men, I think we will see a steady dose of Steven Jackson on Sunday, and why not, he is their best player. Jeff Fisher was always pretty conservative on offense back in his Tennessee Titans days, but he can be unconventional on Special Teams. The Skins need to watchout for that.

Re: Warpath Scouts The Rams

Does anyone see mention of Bradford's completions? Were they a lot of YAC or just dink and dunk stuff that got stopped?

I know that the Lions probably live and die by the blitz considering their secondary still isn't very good, so I'm not super surprised.

Re: Warpath Scouts The Rams

Watched the Rams Lions game last night on replay. While they looked competitive and clearly study their film on the lions, I will say this. I watched a play where matt stafford rolled out out of the pocket, all the LBs went to where they thought the RB was headed and Matt Stafford out ran Chris Long on the edge. Yes Matt Stafford outran Chris Long. He could have probably gotten a first down.

When RG3 plays them this week, I expect some big runs and plays from him seeing how the Rams defense did against 'Mobile' matt stafford.

Re: Warpath Scouts The Rams

I love that RG3 can run, but it makes me nervous as hell EVERY TIME he does it. I think we'll present the same problem against the Rams as we did the Saints with the threat of him running. If we pick up a couple big gains on the read-option, we should have some nice running lanes all day.

Jason Browns gone, they cut him a while ago. Jason Smith their starting RT got shipped away for another bad RT in Wayne Hunter. Roger Saffold their starting LT is coming off a neck injury, and their starting center is out for 8 weeks.
