insider chat room today
dont really know what to make of this...
Nate Kiper Jr. (Baltimore): If the Skins really dump Gardner and Coles, how do you see them rebuilding their WR corps? Is Taylor Jacobs prepared to have a breakout year? Gary Horton: I don't see any way that they will dump Coles and I've heard some rumors about Gardner, but I really like this corps potentially. Coles, Gardner and JAcobs is a trio that really gives the Skins a lot of options and diversity. I really hope they can keep these three together. With more consistancy from the QB and better blocking upfront, they can show us a much better passing scheme than what we've seen. If they lose one of those three, I think it will really detract from their ability to spread the field.

Re: insider chat room today
dave (washington, dc): So do you think that the Washington Post report this mornign could be incorrect? It seems to state pretty confidently the Redskins are cutting Coles. I would hope it's not true, but that seems to be the case. Any thoughts?
Gary Horton: Hmm. I'm the west coast this a.m. so I have yet to hear those reports, but, obviously, they are closer to the situation than I am. If that is the case, then the coaching staff may have made a decision to revamp their entire receiving corps and start from scratch. Maybe they feel that it's the guy outside rather than the QB not getting the job done. Also, remember that by nature, Joe Gibbs wants to run the football, control the clock and not neccessarily have a wide open passing game. He may philosophically want a couple of big, tough posession guys at WR to move the chains. It's really all speculation, but I can just not understand why you would let Coles go. guess this guy hasnt even heard about it...nvm...

Holy hell. If our ability to spread the field becomes any worse than it was last year, I won't know what to think.

Skins Fan (DC): What do you think about our running game this season?
Gary Horton: Although he has been successful in the past, I believe it is finally time for Coach Gibbs to consider replacing John Riggins. I expect Gibbs and Skins owner Jack Kent Cooke to sit down this week to discuss the ability to pay for a quality replacement. This guy has no clue. |
