Crazy C, as you can see were at like 107 for next season. What do you think we can to to help ourselves out so that we dont lose too much that year.

I was pleasently suprised to see how well our cap will shape up after 2006.

Renaldo Wynn sure is making a lot of money for a pretty average D-end. Plus man I say we need to get Brunnel off of the team this year. At the very least the guy needs to be restructuring his contract. The guy this supposed to be HIGH character which means he should say to himself, "Hey I suck, I deserve the league minimum."

Thanks to Matty for getting the cap sheets online. Not sure how you do it but the end result looks great!

The cap sheets are officially in "2005 mode". If anyone notices any mistakes let me know. It's a constant work in progress. Also if there are other improvements you'd like to see (in content or layout) let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Be back soon with some more cap talk.

Good question. Here's some of the 2006 savings I see on the horizon:

- Samuels $11.3M
- Wynn $4.5M
- Brunell $4M (after June 1st 2006 cut)
- Barrow $3.4M
- Bowen $2.4M
- Morton $2.3M
- McCants $2.2M
- Noble $2.1M
- Haley $1.4M
- Raymer $1.1M
- Friedman $1M

So right here there's about $35M of savings here which would bring our 2006 cap number down to about $70M. Of course new guys will be signed and there will be some deadcap charges but we aren't dead yet. Also the cap limit will most probably grow again in 2006 giving us even more room. Finally, if we have a successful 2005 more guys will be willing to restrucutre their deals for 2006. Guys like Jansen, Coles and Thomas can help us in 2006 by adjusting their deals. 2006 isn't looking pretty but I'm confident in the Skins' cap team to make it work.

I'd agree Wynn's number is too big (even if he is from Notre Dame). I guess he'll restructure or be gone. As for Brunell I think he's here for 2005. There's not much we can do with his contract since his 2005 salary is only $1.5M. I assume he'll be cut after June 1, 2006, pushing the bulk of his deadcap to 2007.

Right now we only have 2005 deadcap. This will remain on our books until the 2005 season is over.

Let's breakdown my free time:

- reading the warpath - 30%
- working on my cap sheets - 30%
- madden 2005 - 30%
- being bitter over losing the Expos - 10% (GRADUALLY decreasing over time)

As for your taxes, just be happy you're not paying canadian taxes.

2005 cap casualties

Here's my list of potential 2005 cap casualties (followed by the 2005 savings we would see):

- Samuels $3.6M
- Wynn $2.25M
- Gardner $1.5M
- Noble $1M
- Raymer $900K
- Haley $800K
- Friedman $700K
- Royal $600K
- Bowen $600K

Of course I'm not counting unsigned guys here. A guy like Smoot could also be considered a cap casualty.

So basically I spend more time trying to understand your cap sheets than you do just working on it....sigh, oh well I guess I'll go deal with my intellectual inferiority by buying some Washington Nationals gear.

Seriously though, great work Loco

Thanks Smooty. And seriously if I can make the cap sheets more "user friendly" let me know. I'd much rather you spend your time cheering for Wilkerson and the boys.

No, they're very user friendly. I should have said "spending time trying to understand how you put it together so well"
