Re: Rogain

I had a friend who used it, and basically, yes it works, but if you ever stop using it, you'll be bald very very quickly.

I think the more permenant thing is hair transplantation, but i really know very little about this, so i don't have much else to offer.

So basically you'll end up with less hair than you started with?

Re: Rogain

Yeah I'm only 23 and my hair is already starting to thin. I figure it's going to happen eventually because my dad is bald and you can already start to see the signs, but I didn't think it would start to happen this early.

People have told me to check out Rogaine, Hair Club for Men, etc. but I honestly don't want to use a product that will make me go bald if I ever stop using it. I think when the time comes I'm just going to shave my head and embrace it. I'd rather be bald than look like my coworker, who still rocks (note: I use 'rocks' very loosely here) a combover.

Re: Rogain

I went through the same thing in my early 30s. I just learned to accept it, now I just keep my hair buzzed down short.

If you can hold on for another 5 years or so, a real cure might be on the way

No. It's just that you need to keep using Rogaine to sustain the hair growth. If you stop using it, all the hair that would have fallen out by that point will fall out in a short time frame. So you'll go from nice head of hair to as bald as you would have been without Rogaine in a very short time, which is an emotional shock.

A buddy of mine had hair transplantation done a few years ago, looks good.

Re: Rogain

Just shave it and own who you are. Women like confidence. It's sexy.

Lol my hair is about a 2 or 3 on the buzz length already but I've been short hair for a while I just don't want complete baldness

Same. It's a real bummer skinsfan, but unless you want to make sure you're doing Rogaine daily, pay a few thousand for hair transplants, owning it is the best you're going to do.

I wish I had a full head of hair again, but until something like the link above happens, just going with the zero guard.

That being said, after reading this article, I'll be pretty pissed if this thing can totally stop baldness, but won't be able to regrow hair!

Re: Rogain

I used to have a really bad widows peak like Ed Munster bad then my hairline receded and good bye widows peak!

Honestly just embrace it and keep your hair short especially the sides. I honestly think old guys with a full set of cotton white hair look ridiculous.

I hear ya, but in the grand scheme of things, it could be a lot worse.
