American Dad

I bet this is going to be a new classic show to watch until Family Guy comes back on the air. If it's anything like the original Family Guy episodes, I know that we'll have a good Sunday coming up if the Eagles lose.

Yeah it looks like it could be pretty funny. I'm dying for some new Family Guy. I'm wearing out my Family Guy DVDs

I hope its gonna be good cuz I love seth's work on family guy but I've heard it may be leaning too much towards political humor to last as long as some fans might hope. I know I can't wait for new family guy though. the simpsons episode after the SB looks like it's gonna be freakin awesome too if it compares well to the last time the simpsons had a bunch of athletes on an episode(the baseball team with Strawberry, griffey, and all of them).

If you go to Fox's website and take a look at the clip from the new American Dad, it looked pretty funny to me. He had a gun to Hillary Duff's head.

I'm just repeating what I heard some critics say. of course they sometimes don't know their ass from a hole in the ground so I guess we'll just have to wait and see a couple full episodes.

Yeah, normally if a critic doesn't like something, I'm the first person to line up and see it. They typically only like those artsy-fartsy seniorrific movies.

they've only fully developed one episode of the cartoon...the one for sunday...not supposed to go into the lineup until May, most likely when Family Guy will carry it...so if it doesn't do well, maybe Seth will develop it more fully...

Fox may just have an all animated lineup, with King of the Hill, Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad. I wouldn't complain too much.

I saw on the website that Fox is having the Seth Funny Hour or something like that, with an hour of Family Guy and American Dad.

What'd you guys think of American Dad?

I thought it was just ok. I had high expectations since I'm a big Family Guy fan. Hopefully it will be sharper come May

Simpsons was hilarious. "We're going to have old people sex. Thank you Jammitin"

American Dad just seemed forced. Other than the Dad, the characters seemed like warmed over Family Guy characters - just change the names, the hot mom, the talking fish with the hots for the hot mom, the misfit son, the similarly misfit daughter. Okay, the alien was new but then I realized he was just a rip off of the Futurama alien who was the cute girl's boyfriend (sounds like the same character voice).

All in all, the Dad was great but the rest of it was just warmed over Family Guy which, though I like, is just warmed over Simpsons. Maybe it'll get better.

As far as I'm concerned. If it's like Family Guy, it was funny. Part of it DID seem forced, but if we can enjoy an hour of Family Guy-like quality in May, I'm all for it.

I thought the Simpsons last night was hilarious though!

i got bored with it very quickly. the dad is too similar to peter griffin, and the rest of the family is pretty subpar and predictable. i mean, the rebellous teenage liberal daughter, the nerdy son...aspects that the dad wished he had more control over...the fish is a combo of stewie and brian, which was mildly humorous...and the mom seems to be an afterthought...

it could also be that i got pretty wasted last night and watched it half asleep...hopefully it's cleaned up some for the release in May...
