From TK's article in the Post today

Season Ticket: $2,350 . . . Redskins MasterCard: Priceless

A Redskins Extra Points MasterCard, which allows you to redeem those points you accumulate for your charges to acquire a bunch of Redskins gifts. As in whoop-de-damn-do.
This is a wee bit aggrevating...and if i was a season ticket holder, I'm not sure I would be too fond of this either. In order to purchase season tickets via credit card (which people often do for a matter of reasons), you now have to use the Redskins Extra Points MasterCard, and that specific card only. American Express need not apply...

Just another way for Snyder to drain every single cent out of the fans in order to pay for this freight train he calls the Redskins. There are definitely positives and negatives towards this...however, to limit credit card sales on season tickets to one specific card (that not all season ticket holders have, and may not be able to qualify for) is kinda absurd.

what do you guys think?

I am a proud owner of the Redskins ExtraPoints card... now if only I could get through the waiting list to be a season ticket holder.

This is moronic...does "the Dan" even care that everyone hates him? Apparently not.

Everyone has a perfect right to run his team like a business and make as much money as he can. Danny Boy forked out about $800M for the team - not much of it was his but that's a detail - and he is making money on his investment. It's hard to fault him for that.

On the other hand, the consumer(s) - read "fans" - have the same inalienable right to refuse to do business with him on his terms. And if enough of them do that, he'll change the rules pronto.

Remember about 5 or 6 years ago when one of the credit card companies said it was going to charge people who did not run up interest charges a higher annual fee? And for those cards with no annual fee, there would be one if you paid off the bill every month? How long did that last? It lasted until ONE other company said it would not do that and in about a month that other company was swamped with people changing over from the card that proposed to charge the holders. That idea was rescinded pronto because it ceased to make business sense.

That is when Danny Boy will change his mind on this; when it no longer makes business sense. The one thing he can't do is to refuse to take cash for the tickets because it is "Legal tender for all debts public and private". So, if a bunch of consumers wanted to go to the Skins' ofices and pay off their $2500 tickets with 2500 one dollar bills and to demand a receipt for that transaction, that might make things less attractive from a business perspective.

Or how about a wheelbarrow full of dimes...

Well anyone on the list might get a chance I'm done spending my money on this joker of an owner. It's to bad really, it really is not fair to have only two options. Filling out a credit card form is horrible enough. So screw Dan and shove it your ***! I am tired of overspending at this stadium and supporting him. This year my money goin to Sunday Ticket.

If there wasn't enough demand, he couldn't do it. Cross promotion, people will get that credit card. It'll work for him.

I have no problems with it.

Do these business moves help pay for the signing bonuses that keep guys like Smoot and Pierce around, and let us go after guys like Marcus Washington? If so, I'm all for it

I love watching the Redskins on TV but there is nothing that can parallel an experience at FedEx.

from a business standpoint, it's ingenius. snyder not only gets your money for the tickets, but he gets a kickback from the credit card company. the marketing strategy is incredible on this...get the card, get the tickets, get the gear.

from a consumer standpoint, it's just another card in a long list of credit cards that are out there...and this is just a scheme to make more money...

as Moss has so evidently put it, when i finally get off the list and into the stands, i'll be paying "straight cash homie"

i do like the idea of a wheelbarrow full of dimes though. . .
