I never worry much about the schedule, things change so much in the NFL, we thought this year would be an easier schedule and we went 5-11

Truth. An unfortunate truth.

Some very strong teams on that schedule but I always say the only way you improve is to play opponents who are better than you. Of course, one could argue that the Redskins should steadily improve season in and season out with that logic...lol!

Re: Redskins' 2012 Opponents
This year was an easier schedule. Our opponents collectively were sub-.500.

Panthers and Vikes again. Ghey.
Only one team on that list doesn't have a QB that could be labelled as a "franchise QB": the Browns.

Re: Redskins' 2012 Opponents
It's a much more difficult schedule than this year.
Who knows what the Bucs will turn into? They could be really good, really bad, or anywhere in between. The Panthers will be scary when they get a defense. The Saints and Falcons will still be really good. The interesting thing is the AFC North. There is no guarantee the Steelers and Ravens will be anything resembling the teams we know them as. The Bengals could be great if they get a second year offensive bump from Dalton, but I'm not convinced that is coming. The Browns could have the best defense in that division next year, but don't really have any hope on offense. Drawing the Rams and Vikings as a fourth place schedule isn't bad. Both of those teams are ahead of us in terms of adding young players on offense, but obviously, thats a minor advantage, and we can beat either on any given day.

Looks like I'll have to save my New Orleans trip for the fall.

It might be smart with that schedule to focus on building a defense that could give elite passers fits. If we don't improve the secondary, everything we've put on defense the last two years will be meaningless when we play those teams.
