Arrington on the way out?

Seen on ComcastSportsnet's SportsNite. Now that Lavar was paid 'his' 6.5 million dollar roster bonus, should we look to trade him to avoid salary cap hell in the next year or two. Lemar Marshall and Chris Clemons did fill in admirably during his absence. And if a trade could save us some dough, why not? I've been searching for a link for the story. No luck just yet.

LaVar is a strength, not a weakness. im surprised at how 'what have you done for me lately' you guys are. he's a massive lockerroom presence, not to mention the ferocity he brings onto the field. like Ramsey, he's had to suffer along being a Redskin for so many disappointing and tumultous seasons, but UNLIKE Champ or now Smoot, he's always stayed optimistic and enthusiastic about the club.

if Arrington played this season, we would have the number one defense this season instead of number three. alot of those 'oh so close' to getting the QB (vinny) situations would have been certain sacks. probably would have gotten a couple more fumbles too.

I just dont get it.

Trade Arrington.....

Trade Portis....

Lets cut Coles....

Why do we have to overturn the roster every single year. Koy Demter and AJ Feeley filled in awsome for Donavan McNabb a couple seasons ago, should the Eagles have let him go to save some cap room? It just dosent make sense, and people dont understand that we cant do these things with guys carrying this kind of cap number. It would make things worse... not better. Arrington is going no where. Portis is going no where. None of these guys are leaving, I dont know why we even have to speculate it.

Well according to the report. Team officials deamed it a 2006 roster bonus. As long as that's permissable by the league, it seems we would'nt take any more of a hit than that (and since his contract was recently renegotiated, it should be somewhat cap friendly, especially after being paid the roster bonus). In essence you do trade a player's contract. Possibly, this is just the team trying to make good on an agreement. But why settle a 6.5 million dollar dispute before the hearing? Any contract issues are to be cleared up before a trade.

In one of gibbs last press confrence he was talking about a three year window in the cap space. This is a moving three year window. He said the team was fine as with the cap perspective over the next three years. Maybe danny boy has a syatem that we are overlooking with the cap room. Has he structured contracts for this? Is this a plan to keep renegotiating contracts to give us room? We allways are hearing about our cap problems but it seems every year we find the room to sign new players. Does anyone have any insight on this or have heard gibbs speak of this?

And the secondary would have had more INTs because of LA pressuring the QB into throwing the ball quicker.

Anybody remember the 1st quarter of the preseason Falcons game? I know it was just a preseason game, but Michael Vick is Michael Vick no matter what time of the year it is.

You can't compare Detmer and Feeley money to Arrington money. You want to use PHI as an example? Look what happened to Trotter before we signed him. It happens to the 'best' of them.

He was comparing (detmer & feeley vs McNabb) to (clemons & marshall vs Arrington, like you did in post #1).

What about Trotter before we got him???

I am growing extremely tired of this crap...
In an effort to not be a jerk about this I will not use names but it is seriously time for some people around here to face the fact that they know nothing about football. Or at least don't have a firm grasp of the way the NFL works. On top of the fact that you don't trade an all pro line backer for apparently no good reason you also don't trade an all pro linebacker when it would KILL YOUR FREAKING CAP!!!. It would not save us any money at all next year. Listen up people...this team is built for next year. Next year is it. Talent wise next year will be our best year we've had in awhile and may be short lived since 2006 may require some serious rework for cap reasons. We are not trading Portis or Lavar or anybody outside of the obvious candidates...plain and simple it is not going to happen. ANd any 'journalist' who suggests otherwise clearly is making things up just for the heck of it...those tards over at Comcats must not understand the NFL as much as they would have you believe.

That's my point as well. Who would rather have? A high-priced, brand-name guy who plays well or a budget-priced, no-name guy who plays just as well? Let's not kid ourselves. Yes, Arrington wrecks havoc. He has also blown more assignments than M street hooker.

So you would rather have Feeley & Detmer over McNabb?
