Orakpo's Ready for His Close Up

Good for Orakpo

He's not someone I would have pegged necessarily as the face of the team from a commercial perspective

Wow, that is so awesome -- that alone would convince me to buy from Geico

Good for him. I guess I need to target Cowboy, Giant, and Eagle fans that have Geico.

Re: Orakpo's Ready for His Close Up

I can't remember the last time I saw a bonafide Redskin have a presence in national tv advertisements. Easterns doesn't count, because their ads were a local thing. McNabb doesn't count, because he was doing all his tv ads before he got here. Some might say this is a bad thing, but I think it's good for Orakpo to increase his profile like this.

Cooley has been in some national commercials.

I remember he was in that NFLN fantasy football commercial a few years ago where he caught a ball after punching his arm through a sheet of drywall. I can't think of any other national tv spots though.

NFL Shop with his wife, Snyder and his wife too are in it too.

Or maybe it was just Cooley's wife... can't remember.

Portis had a spot on NFL Network's total access commercials a few years back.
Remember the Colley spots, good stuff.

I know Snyder and his wife were in the NFL Shops spots, can't forget those because they still air them all the time. And I think it was just Cooley's wife and not him in those as well.

Re: Orakpo's Ready for His Close Up

Campbell was in the same commercial as Cooley punching his hands through the sheetrock. It was the one where he threw two balls, made them hit each other in the air and both balls were caught by WRs....what a laugh that was! I also think he was the one who threw the ball to Cooley.

Re: Orakpo's Ready for His Close Up

Orakpo I believe is the first Redskin I can remember in a long time to be featured in a national commercial that isn't tied to the NFL (Geico's not even an NFL sponsor)

Yeah, Orakpo won't be wearing his Redskins jersey for that reason -- I don't know if he is that recognizable nationwide but w/e. Stoked to see Rak with the Geico caveman
